I absolutely HATE mailboxes that are made to look like things other than mailboxes.  I think that a mailbox that looks like a fish or a lighthouse or a flamingo is the TACKIEST thing in the world.  I never really noticed them until I moved to Florida and now it seems like every other house has a giant smiling manatee to recieve the mail!  My husband finds my disgust amusing, but I can't hide my hate for these ridiculous "lawn ornaments".Š

If that is the worst thing you see you are blessed to live in a safe place!

there are dumber things in life than novelty mailboxes that are an expression of ones personality , like people who put down artistic expression and freedom of speach!

Obviously mailboxes aren't the worst thing I see, but I don't take myself or life so seriously that I need to just complain on a message board about the real problems. I get involved and work to change them. This board is about "pet peeves"-- not world hunger!
