I'll use some "not so used" categories!

I've decided that being my auto insurance is up for renewal next month that I will shop around for the best price I can get. I have been with this company, I won't mention their name *cough* progressive *cough* since I first got my learners permit, over 10 years ago. I usually pay in full (which I will not anymore being I got the brand new car and it's a bit more).

After using a few websites that send you quotes and calling a few places, I was honestly shocked to see that this company *cough* progressive *cough* was over $100 MORE then any other company (geico not included - but I won't go with them because of that STUPID lizard). I mean I have been with this company for so many years where is my "loyal customer" discount? Or at least my FAIR price?? They were always the best priced for me, but all of a sudden they are $100 more then the rest? Do they think they can just WALK over loyal customers??

Needless to say, tomorrow I will send all my info to another company, the lowest bidder for the SAME exact coverage (actually better coverage) and will start with them when mine runs out. The cheapest company also gives a discount for doing a direct payment from my account!! That stupid company *cough* progressive *cough* just lost a customer for life. One that was never late with payments (my credit is through the roof) and one that just purchased a brand new car. Stupid Insurance Company!

On the plus side, my new insurance company sponsors my favorite NASCAR driver.. hehehe, so convenient! Kinda made my day that they were the cheapest!

I just got a second quote ...

I just got a second quote from the people I was going to go through, and it's even cheaper. I'm going to call the girl tomorrow and talk about the quote with her and see what's up and get all signed up. If this second quote is possible then I'll be saving a BUNDLE... it seems too good to be true though, so it must be!

If you can get accepted - ...

If you can get accepted - Erie has by far the best coverage for the money. Cheaper isn't always better. Value is the key - best coverage for dollar spent.

ive been with state farm ...

ive been with state farm since i got my permit 8-9 years ago. my agent and her team are so friendly and so kind to me. i have had a lot of problems paying my insurance in the past but they kept being nice to me and treating me like they wanted my business. even after claiming 2 accidents in 2 years they are still very kind to me. *hugs kathy peterson and her team*

yeah, I'm with them ...

yeah, I'm with them too...state farm...and when I first started driving, which wasn't until I was 21 when I bought my Corolla but had a license since I was 18, I had to go with Geico on my mom's plan for the 1st 6 months and it was HIGH back then and as soon as those 6 months were up, I RAN to state farm. I may be mistaken but they wouldn't cover me at first being brand new, I had to have previous insurance before they would cover me. I guess to check me out first to see how I was.
and I agree with you about progressive too. they wanted MORE than state farm, even now when I check!

i got my license when i ...

i got my license when i was 16 and i went on my parents state farm insurance right away. i *think* when i got my permit i was on their insurance, too. once i turned 18 and my dad fixed the old '87 omni, i was on my own with my insurance. been with the same agent since. i dont recall having any type of problems because i was a "noobie." maybe my parents just never mentioned anything about it. *shrugs*

When I first got mine I ...

When I first got mine I was put on my parents policy too - which was through progressive. Been with them for 10 years now, but I refuse to pay over $100 more then any other company! State farm was a decent price, but not the cheapest. Looks like I'm going with my drivers sponsor!!

I don't need any of the "perks" they offer either - being I bought my car brand new from the dealer I have MORE then enough perks from them. Heck, they told me they will buy me 4 brand new tires if I ever get a flat and it can't be fixed!! Plus, I have Onstar, so I don't have to worry much about anything.

yeah, isn't OnStar the ...

yeah, isn't OnStar the BEST!!?? I haven't used it yet. it's free for the first year. BUT I do ENJOY my XM radio, it was free for 3 months and I continued with it also! I can't STAND reg radio now!!

We don't get XM radio, or ...

We don't get XM radio, or any of that satellite radio. They blocked it in town. I haven't had to use OnStar yet, but it's nice to know if anything happens I just get to click the button!!!

i wouldnt mind having onstar but i dont feel like having it installed on my car and then paying monthly for it. too much moolah for me. i do, however, LOVE the gps in my phone. that thing has been a God-send!
