And it continues...

I figured the weekend would defeat my mood and the bad things happening to me, but of course not. Of course I have more to go on Monday, but I think I may have snapped somewhat out of it all??

I had a coworker start on me about how I do my job, a part of my job he is NOT to be doing, but has started doing lately. Now let me explain... this is the guy that complains about how much he has sitting on his desk to do, the guy that stays late because he can't get it all done. Well, about 4 months ago he started doing my work (in terms of drafting) where he didn't need to do it, and should not have been doing it. They pay me to draft, and him to be a manager. I don't mind if he does minor changes to drawings, that's fine, but not entire projects! So 4 months ago I said "Hey, how about letting me do my job?" - with less attitude then I show now. Since this time, he's continued on his path of doing my job, and has now started to complain about how I do my job (not really how *I* do it, but how the INDUSTRY does it). Today we had it out, boss in ear range (I figured he would have stepped in). And the nerve of this coworker, he picked up a cellphone call in the middle of our conversation!! THAT was the icing on the cake, so when he was off the phone I went back and told him how it was...

"If you don't like how the industry does things, complain to the industry" "If you think my position here is useless, as you previously stated, you tell the boss that not me" "if you think you can handle my job, as well as YOUR job, talk to the boss" "don't tell me it's like 'pulling teeth' to get me to do something when I have a project come across my desk that I didn't even know we had" and then "if you would let me do what I'm paid to do, then you wouldn't have so much on your desk"...

Then I sat down with the boss, and told him what was going on. He didn't realize that this employee was doing ENTIRE projects, he was under the impression it was minor things being done, not entire projects. That will all be handled when said employee comes back from being out of town.

My issue: Said employee is described as the "golden boy" of the company. Whatever though, I'll deal with it as it comes, as I have been dealing with ALL of life lately.. I know I'm not in the wrong at all here, I'm sitting at my desk WAITING for work to be done. Seriously, I waste days on end waiting for someone to have something for me to do, and when they do I DO IT. That was the agreement when I was hired: "play online games all you want, as long as when we have work you do it". I've had a lot of good said about me at work recently too, as I've been filling in a position I shouldn't be, and didn't have to be. My boss knows what I have done for this company lately, as other employees do too. In fact there are employees that "controlled" things that are now afraid of me because of my "you do your job and I'll do mine" attitude. As one said recently, I'm a "team player" and will help out where needed, as long as it IS needed. I guess that's what really ticks me off with all of this, I'm there to do a job, and this person is not coming to me with work I need to do.

UGH I need a vacation. A REAL vacation - not a trip home to see the freaking family and get stressed out about things that shouldn't be happening. A REAL trip, to somewhere that I can just soak up some sun, and not have to think about anything but what I want the cabana boy to bring me. Maybe this fall??? I hope so..

I agree kick him in his ...

I agree kick him in his dangly part, LOL!!!

and go get that vacation!!!

My bunnie wunnie. Next ...

My bunnie wunnie. Next time this guy acts up you need to kick him in his dangly-parts.

Vacation....hmm....where can you go? Sequoia National Forest is gorgeous! There's a lodge/hotel that I stayed at called Wuksachi Lodge. At night it was SO dark that light seemed to not penetrate it. I couldn't see a foot in front of me. And the stars were amazing!

Also Key Largo has a cute simple hotel called the Bayside Resort. It has rooms facing the bay and it's right off the water. There's a really yummy restaurant on the property with bay-side eating. AND there's fun stuff in the area. Glass bottom boat tour, dolphin swimming, snorkeling, diving, etc. Plus, Key West is only a few hour drive south. That's a day trip in it's own. So that's another idea.

Southern Arizona is nice ...

Southern Arizona is nice and warm! I haven't ever seen any cabana boys, but I hadn't been looking either.

I hope you can get time away to relax!

Haha, I missed the cabana ...

Haha, I missed the cabana boy comment until I just now reread the rant. lol.

Good luck finding one! When you find a place that has the cabana boys, let me know. ;-)
