BASTARDS!!!!

My brother-in-law got brave and checked out what his 401k was worth. He lost over $20,000! I'm afraid to check ours. The one lone stock I own lost tons of money. And now we aren't going to Vegas this summer. When we went online to check out deals we discovered that last summer's 2-star hotels have 5-star prices this year. And we checked many different dates on many different sites. Bah. Stupid economy!

No really! As if there wasn't enough trouble. . .

Why are so many people suckered into this madness? I hate that these stores put out these "great" offers for 4AM, not only that but only have a VERY limited amount of the "great deal". You'll get 200 people lining up the night before in hopes snagging one of 50 Playstations, Stupid.

Is it me or is it getting outrageous that Nintendo Wii and Elmo dolls are short every year? They have the whole year to produce the stupid things yet have a small supply for Christmas? Bull! Its just a marketing tool to make the product seem more hip or cool and inflate prices to maximize profit.

The worst part of this day for me is the people shopping, people in the stores are usually rude, cranky, and pushy. I have seen people in shouting matches and fist fights over the most trival things. People will push, pull, and shove to get what they want.  Parking is a nightmare! The cashiers and other staff in the store are so over worked and look like deer caught in headlights.

No thanks I'll go to the office to work or just stay home.

my truck!  this is what I've been dealing with since Friday, oh, around 12:30 in the afternoon, AT WORK!  yes I was at work when I was hit.

I was waiting to back out (going get lunch), I wasn't  even in the street or ON the street when this guy hit me.  our parking lot is on side of the street so when you back out, you have to look for cars coming down the street. all the cars are parked in a row so you have to back out a little to look for cars coming down the street and when I saw the truck that was coming I stopped to wait for it to pass.  well, when  it passed, it HIT me. to this day I STILL am trying to figure out HOW he hit me!  he had to be SO CLOSE to the curb when he passed in order to hit me.  well, the first thing out his mouth was, and I quote "I didn't see you and I had the right of way!"  to which I responded, "I wasn't even IN the street yet, so why were you SO CLOSE??!!"  he hit me on the side with the broken glass and pushed me into the white truck parked next to me which belonged to the girl who was in the car WITH me.  after that we called the cops and then that's when it hit me, "MY TRUCK IS EFFED UP!"  and I started crying while I called David to tell him about it.  it was still drive-able and the engineers at work clipped off my bumper cuz it was hanging and put it in the back and I drove to the dealer which is right up the road from where I work and I got a rental from enterprise while I was there.  so hopefully, they said they are going to start fixing it tomorrow. the rental I got is a minivan, I hate it!  I miss my truck.  

I forgot to tell you that we BOTH got a ticket…him for speeding and me  for "reasonable vigilence".  I asked the cop what that was for and he said cuz I "may" have been at fault too if I was over the curb sticking out in the street a little bit.  BUT even so, IF that was the case, he STILL should have seen me and NOT been so close to the curb!! and I did have to back up some to see if anyone was coming!!! but I was NOT on the street YET!

How would you like this to happen to your family?  You have a specialty that is needed in another country, go over there to help and want to bring your family with you only to get denied because your child has a "special" medical condition?  I think that this is discrimination.  I am so angry and upset right now from reading this that I want to write a letter to the government there and give them a good piece of my mind, and then send a letter to the family for my condolences.  I know one thing, this country was on my list to visit before I died…well, not no more!

My Friday morning has been destroyed. I have never wanted so badly to rip someones arm off and beat the ever living piss out of them with it! I called yesterday to get set up to get my studs on the SUV. The guy says they don't do appointments, but that as long as I'm there at 7am to drop my car off it will be done by the end of my work day (which is perfect for me). 

So I get up early, and get my lazy butt moving (still tired after the hockey game). I arrive at the business 10 minutes before 7. I sit in my car and listen to the radio. There are three other people waiting by the door. Time passes slowly, and I see the clock in the building hit 7. OK no problems, it's a windy rainy morning, perhaps he's running late. Five minutes later my coworker shows up and I said "Go to work, I'll get a cab there. Let them know I might be a few minutes late".

I grab my stuff and I go stand with the other people (now there's 8 people standing there). We're standing around, some are reading, some are chatting, and I overhear a guy say "Yeah he told me the open at 8 but to get here about 7:30."       WHAT????

Apparently I was the ONLY person told to be there at 7, everyone else was told 7:30ish. WTF is up with that??? I have to be to work at 7:30! Why the hell would you tell a customer to show up half an hour before you tell EVERYONE else. Now I'm fuming mad, getting more and more pissed by the minute.

Finally at 7:20 I couldn't take it anymore. I had 10 minutes to get to work and this anus still hadn't shown up. I decided that I would rather pay $100 more for the tires then miss time at work and pay for a damn cab ride because this company owner is a jack-a$$ that can't tell everyone the same thing! Now I have to call a few other places and pick one, then set up an appointment. These other places are ALL pre-approved by coworkers for being good, knowing their $hit, and getting it done when they say it'll be done as well as being there when they tell you they will be there!

GRRRRR I think maybe I'll go look for steel and relive some of this stress I have. 

first off, this is a double rant!

first, THE WEATHER!!  my kids didn't have school today because of it.  the wind was kickin ass and takin names!!!  blowing stuff all over, tree branches EVERYWHERE and trying to DRIVE was HORRIBLE!!  not much rain today OR yesterday either, BUT the WIND!  WHEW!!  I went to work but there was no power so we weren't there long, maybe 2 hours.  so after work I decided to TRY and get my disaster relief food stamps.  which leads me to my second rant…

the food stamps!  I got there about 11:30 and got IN the building at 1:30!!!  that's how long the line was, but it kept moving so it wasn't bad and with the wind outside, it cooled us off as we waited.  but that isn't even my problem.  my problem IS all the "foreign" (hispanic) people in the line to get them!!  one dude had a HONDURAS passport!!  I SAW IT!!  HOW the EFF can they be getting LOUISIANA food stamps??!!  once the line moved inside the building, I noticed that there was a separate line for these "foreigners".  I don't know if they got the same amount we got but I do WONDER WHY they even QUALIFY to get them!!??  I was able to get $643 for one month, just a month which is ok for me, for a family of five.

Clint is getting laid off on Sept. 7. His anniversary date is Sept. 11th (lucky day, I think not) if he would have made those last 4 days, he would have been eligable for sub-pay, and he would have been offered a lay-off package of $10,000.00 plus $400.00 for every year worked, but now it is nothing but the un-employment line. He has been job hunting since the news broke that there were going to be layoffs 60+ days ago, but to no avail. So we are basically screwed, unless we win the mega-millions lottery that we bought tickets for…..but doubt that will happen.

Kaylie started school today, and she looked really cute and is super excited. She has always gone to bed at 8:30, but could not fall asleep (because of excitement) until around 10:30. I am so excited for her, but at the same time, a little upset, because now time will fly by even faster for my baby…..who is no longer a baby, but a big girl.

Hopefully something good will come out of the madness. We are hopefull that he will start getting interviews soon.

Okla. state worker temporarily gets 6-figure bonus

So I have been super busy at work, fiscal year is almost over and we are doing the budget. yay…….so much fun I can hardly stand it. So I haven't been able to get on here in a while, except to leave a comment or two, but today is the day for a few things, so it is now time to get the peeves off my chest.

We are supposed to find out if Clint gets laid off today. We are on pins and freakin needles waiting for an answer. They can extend the date for as long as they want up to 60 days, but can only extend it once. The local paper says they can extend the date from anything like 60 days to just over the weekend. His 3 year anniversary is Sept. 11 (lucky day, right?) and if Alcoa extends the date past then, he will be eligable for sub-pay, if they do it before his 3 year mark, then he will get nothing but unemployment. Damn the waiting.

As I said above we are doing a budget at work. They said the salaries for the department I work in are out of wack. They wanted to do a $2/hr raise for the whole department. Now they are saying that they are just going to do 5%. So instead of bringing in an extra $320 a month, we will be bringing in alot less, but I guess a raise is a raise, right? Nope, wrong. While they are saying they will give us this raise, they are going to take money out of our checks to help pay for the raise in our medical insurance. So they give-ith and take-ith away. So we are not making anything extra that they are not going to get back anyway.

School starts for my oldest on Monday. Don't know if I am excited or upset yet. I am glad she will be starting school, but I am upset because now I have no control of the people that will have negaitive impacts on her. I know there are shi*ty parents that raise shi*ty kids with shi*ty attitudes, but I don't want that to rub off on her. I am trying to be positive, because I know she will meet some great new people, but she will also meet negative people, and that sucks. We met her teacher last night, and she seems real nice, and excited about her new students. I heard she is a very good teacher, so I am thankful for that. They have been remodeling the kitchen at the Elementary since last year, it still isn't done, so the Jr. High is making extra food for the Elem. and shipping it over, for most of the school year. I am glad Kaylie wanted a lunch box, and is taking her lunch. 

My aunt just had a baby. This is not so much a bad thing, but parts of it are. She is 45! She refused to have any of her now 4 kids in a hospital, she has them at home with a midwife. They could barely support the 3 kids they had, so hell, lets add one more. Then to make matters worse, she is taking off work for a YEAR! If her husband had a stable job, I am sure they could make it, but he doesn't. Then to add insult to injury, they just moved in with my grandmother, who JUST put my 96 year old great grandmother in a nursing home, so now the freedom of going to the bathroom without my great-grandmother busting in, is now eclipsed my having 4 kids bust in on her. My aunt is the baby of the family, but there comes a time to own up to your responsibilities. She says that God has put her where she is today, but I don't believe that. God would not intentionally make her move in with my grandmother! Yes, I do believe that God puts obsticles and choices in your path, but it is up to YOU to decide which path to take. The easy way is not always the right one. You don't do something because it is easy, you choose the path that better directs your life and the life of your family.

I am getting off my soap box now, but I am sure I will find something else to b*tch about later.

about any of you 'new' to buying a car. . .

Let me walk you through my day so far (it's only 10am). I wouldn't say I was running behind, it was only 5 minutes later then usual, and I'm typically at work 15-20 minutes early every day. Today NOBODY wanted to drive!! For some reason at every light people felt the need to NOT accelerate when it turned green, and apparently I missed the bulletin that today is "Drive 15 mph under the speed limit" day. If there is one thing that REALLY irks me when I'm driving it's people that can't reach the speed limit. Seriously, if you can't drive 45 in a 45 then GET THE HELL OFF THE ROAD! They should put sensors on cars so that when they aren't driving the speed limit (when there is no reason to be going slower) it should just shut their car off. These people shouldn't be allowed on the road. Granted I am not running late, but if I can't get around these people I sure will be!! 

So I posted my old car on Craigslist again - still haven't had a serious buyer. Everyone says "Oh Subaru's will sell fast" but nobody even wants to look at it. I post it again, and get an email from a guy that asks me if it's an automatic or 5 speed. I sent him a simple one line response "As the AD states, this car is an automatic"…. don't people read? If you are REALLY interested in this vehicle, wouldn't you READ what is already posted on the site before contacting the seller? So he wasted my time, and then emails me back to say he was looking for a 5 speed. LIKE I CARE? As all this was going on I got a phone call from a friend that is in desperate need of a vehicle, so I told him I'd sell him mine dirt cheap just to get it out of the driveway. I haven't decided for sure if I will buy my Mac just yet or wait a few months.

And last but not least - I'm at work at the dispatcher here is just out of hand. Everyone knows it, and everyone tells me about it (even though I can't do anything). I tell them to tell the boss, but they don't. I think they just like venting to me. I saw her pull the ultimate RUDE thing though, she was walking towards a tech who was on the phone with a customer and she just started blabbing away LOUDLY to him. My mom taught me when I was VERY young that you NEVER interrupt someone on the phone - if it's important you can get their attention but NEVER talk off topic to them. Let alone at the volume level she was, and plus it had nothing to do with what he was on the phone about. It was some bull**** about a schedule. This dispatcher is the one that was not eating trying to lose weight to impress her ex, so I wouldn't expect any differently from her.

OK I feel better! Had to get it all out! Thank God Tomorrow is Friday!!

Not sure if any of you have seen the 'freecreditdotcom' commercials, but I have! They tell ytou throughout the ad that 'all' you do is go online, and get your FREE CREDIT REPORT!!!

Well, I looked and it is true, the report IS 'free'. . . as long as you use a credit card to sign up for a 30 day trail period!!! So, what if the REASON you are looking is to see WHY you can't get a credit card? I don't have one and they don't take debit cards! I was looking for a background check, not even for a credit card. I was (and still am) wondering what prospective employers might be seeing.  But, since I don't have a credit card, I guess I am gonna have to hire a private eye or something. . .

In todays America maybe all gas companies need to do this.

I took a call from this woman who obviously asphysiated on her hair dye.  She was thinking she reached Child Protecttive services to complain that her Ex was 5 MINUTES late dropping off his kid home and she wanted to file a report against him. I tried to explain to her she had the wrong number but she just wouldn't get it!  We went back and forth for 2 minutes and she still insisted that she had the right number.  I finally got the phone book and gave her the correct number (something we're not supposed to do by the way).

Cripes, I answered the phone announcing the name of the company she called that should have been her first clue she was calling the wrong place.  She didn't care she just wanted to be a witch.

I was also disgusted that she's moaning over 5 minutes!  Jesus maybe the kid needed to stop to go to the restroom, they got stuck at a train crossing, or were slowed down by traffic. I got the impression that this woman is not a very rational person, she thinks she is always right and never listens to anyone. I'll bet this guy wishes he had used a condom now. 

THAT is how long I was on the phone with Dell about my computer JUST a few minutes ago!!! My comp was fine yesterday and today when I turned it on, it said "windows could not be opened due to a missing or corrupt file…windows/system32/config/…" OK, when I called dell, I was transferred FIVE times. five diff people asked me my name, then for the express service code, then the problem and so I read the screen to them word for word, ALL FIVE OF THEM, and all five said that they would transfer me to tech support!! HELLO…I THOUGHT that was what I called to begin with! anyway, they say they are going to transfer me and that "for future reference, for quicker service, next time you have a problem to call 1800-624-9896 and key in your express service code…" WELL THAT'S WHAT I DID WHEN I INITIALLY CALLED!!! and I told all FIVE of them that too and ALL FIVE had the same speech about calling the right 1800 # and putting in the code,etc. so WHY then OH WHY was I transferred BACK to FOUR OTHER PEOPLE who told me the EXACT SAME EFFIN THING!!!!! THANK GOD that the fifth person assured me that she would get me to tech support cuz if I had to explain the problem ONE MO' TIME…..anyway, as you can see, 69 minutes later, it's fixed and I'm back online!

while I was on the phone with dell, my son gave me the mail and you'll NEVER believe what I got, or what David got….a letter saying that his "check" would be here by 5-23. and in the same breath I opened the next letter AND IT WAS THE FRIGGIN ACTUAL CHECK!!!! how screwed up is that ****??? alas, mine has still yet to come…letter or check!!
