An American Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles was diverted to Oklahoma City on Friday after a passenger stripped nude and later tried to open an emergency exit door before being subdued by members of a professional soccer team and others, the FBI said.

I live in Los Angeles, and there is a lot of press about David Beckham and his wife, Victoria coming to Los Angeles.  The first game sold out, and the LA team lost.  I am curious if the rest of the games will sell out wherever he is playing.  They garner a lot of press, I just wonder if it will take soccer to the next level here in the US.

There's no one in my circle of friend with whom I can speak about my interest in soccer. They are all into college football and NASCAR which I totally don't get, but I can at least carry on a conversation about them.

I wish they’d televise it same as American football or baseball. Unfortunately, there’s no time for commercials except half-time so it isn’t “supported” that way. And then there’s so much movement all the time, unlike a line of scrimage or a home plate and pitcher’s mound, that it’s a hell of a sport for the cameramen. Still, I think there ought to be some way to make it work. Even the pay channels rarely broadcast it. The world’s most popular sport and we’re left out of the loop.
