so, I SLICED my finger open while cleaning out my freezer…
and I was in the ER at Ochsner hosp for 3 1/2 hrs! I'm such a 'tard. my freezer in my laundry room needed to be cleaned and I had just gone to Sam's to stock it up again but before I put anything in it, I wanted to wipe it down on the inside. it wasn't as dirty as my fridge that I cleaned last night, but there was some "drippage" from oozing stuff that had melted when the power was out. so I was kinda going fast to hurry up to put the groceries in there and as I was squeezing the towel towards the back of the freezer trying to get in a tight crack where I was some mess, my fingers also kinda squeezed in there with it BUT it was my left MIDDLE finger that caught the brunt of the "attack" as I went to pull out my hand cuz it was such a tight fit it started to hurt me. instead of "sliding" my hand BACK the way it came from, I YANKED it out and BAM!! and this was PLASTIC that cut me like this! I had flesh flapping and blood squirting!!! it looked just like some CSI crap! I thought I'd NEVER stop bleeding! and MAN did that SH!T HURT!! my finger was THROBBING! I honestly thought I ripped it down to the bone! this was about 7pm tonight. the stupid after hours urgent care place was closing at 8:00 and it was already 7:30 by the time I was able to calm down and see that I needed serious help for this. so we HAD to go to the ER. got there about 8:oo and it was 10:00 before I was called in the back, another 1/2 hour before anyone came in there and then he did my stitches (4 of them) and that shot of novacaine HURT cuz he stuck me several time all AROUND my cut!! and it BURNED as it went in my finger each time! I never had stitches before. then, I was done about 11:15. THEN he said to wait for the nurse to tell me instructions and give me my script. ok, simple right…NOT! I sat there til 11:45 and STILL NOBODY CAME!! so I see about 4-5 nurses sitting there and ask if anyone was gonna come cuz I had been finished for about a half hour. then I see her get up and pull my chart from RIGHT IN FRONT of her and bring it to me!!!! ALL THAT TIME WASTED!!! for NOTHING! I was watching them sit at the desk PLAY on the computer the WHOLE time!!! meanwhile, I could have been home resting and David has to work tomorrow so he was tired and needed to get to sleep!! he never usu. works Saturdays, but with all this hurricane crap, they're working tomorrow!
the bright side in all this is I can give a MEAN middle finger "bird" to anyone!

Misappropriation of Government Funds!
Ok, it might not be exactly that, but from what I am seeing that was the only thing that I could think to call it at this moment.
Just to make sure people understand that I have nothing against May/December relationships, because my 1st hubby was 26 years older than me (he passed away in 2003), and the second was 20 years older than me (divorced in 2006). I just don't agree with my boss at this point and time.
Her hubby is 36 years older than her (she just turned 33!), they married after she joined the military. Here is the issue. He has some really bad medical problems that he had prior to getting married to her. Since they have been married, he has had to have a kidney removed, half of his liver and pancreas. She spends more time not working because he has so many medical issues. His good kidney that is left is failing, so they have put him on dialysis 3 times a week (which takes 4 hours each time) until they can find a kidney replacement for him. Yesterday, she had to take off because he had another medical appointment. He has been having chest pains, so they induced a heart attack on him. Well, he was supposed to be able to go home after the test, needless to say, that isn't happening, he is now in the hospital because he had a minor stroke as they brought him out of the induced heart attack. Which means more time off of work {mind you, she is the commander and supposed to be leading her troops and she is never around to do that}. So now it looks like she won't be able to work at all for at least the next week! Let's top things off here, she has been trying for the past 2 months to have another child because as she puts it "my biological clock is ticking!". She already has two boys with him, and step kids that are older than her! Like she really needs any more. Oops, forgot to mention, both of her kids also have serious medical issues. Plus she has her own made up illnesses now, like severe allergies and she goes once a week to get a shot that is supposed to cure her allergies.
I know people have medical issues from time to time. I just honestly believe that he hook, lined and sinkered her into marrying him so that he could latch onto some good medical because of how sickly he is. I don't know who to report this to, plus I would think that someone higher up would start to realize this and force her either out of the military or cancel the insurance on him due to how much he is costing the government.
What do I do? I am at a loss! I have her troops calling me and asking why they can't spend more time taking their spouses/children to medical appointments when they have problems and why they have to work from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. and she can come in at 10 a.m. leave at 11 a.m. for lunch, return at 2 p.m. from lunch and then leave at 3:30 p.m. to get her kids from daycare and go home for the night! Add it up, she works on average 2.5 hours a day, and sometimes that is more than what she actually is working.
I have tried going above her in the chain of command to report this issue, but they blow it off because of how sick her hubby and kids are. My First Sergeant and I are pulling the weight of the company. I am just a civilian secretary, but I do the job of the commander and have been the decision maker for the past 8 months now. My First Sergeant is getting so burned out and I just don't know anymore how to handle this situation.

For Those of you who say we don’t need national healthcare plan
http://medheadlines.com/2008/02/23/court-awards-9m-to-cance r-patient-over-cancelled-coverage/
What difference does her weight make? Studies show that slim people aren't always the most healthy people and in fact some overweight people maybe more healthy than slimmer people.
I am diabetic and worry about something like this happening to me! My medication, testing supplies (meter, strips, lancets), A1C testing, and other blood work is expensive but essential to my well being. I have to have all of those things to ensure good health, its horrifies me to think I could be denied coverage if I were to switch employment; at least with a universal health care I'd always be covered!

INSURANCE CO.
Ok, When my daughter Reese was born 3 years ago, the insurance put her on the policy as soon as they got the info from the hospital for her. So I assumed (bad choice on my part) that this would occur again for Addison….. WRONG-O! I just got a bill today from her pediactric doctor explaining how I owe them over $350 for a routine doctor visit for her and her 2 month shots……. Why would the same insurance company do one thing for one child, and not for the other as far as births go?? So I got on-line, got into my husbands policy and it says that I was supposed to add her with-in 31 days of her birth (like I didn’t have enough going on at the time). And now since I didn’t know they didn’t add her untill now, it is past the 31 day mark (almost 3 months on the 1st!) and I will have to wait until the open season (January) to add her onto our Policy. WTF!!!???
So it all boils down to I have a 2 1/2 month old, that has NO FREGGIN INSURANCE! All because they changed things and didn’t let anyone know. Bastards! At least the local clinic will give her shots for $5 a visit…so I am WAY better off there anyway.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield is REALLY starting to tweak my nu-nu’s……….Â

Health Insurance Companies- Can’t live without but I sure want to.
I have luekemia, hence chronic health issue with respitory infections and the
cancer itself - not to mention stress symptoms. Anyway my GP took an xray a few
weeks ago when I was coming down with bronchitis. He saw some cloudy area in my
lung that was there the last time he took an xray. He wants to do a CT of my
chest to get another look at the area. My insurance company is screwing around
and holding off approving the procedure. I guess they don’t care that I
could have a chronic lung problem like CANCER of the lung! Once you have a
cancer, it can spread.
I’m so angry now that if I could afford to pay the doctor bills myself, I
would cancel my policy.
They did something similar to this back in March when my doctor decided I needed to stay in the hospital over the weekend. The insurance doctor(s) decided I only needed one day so they refused to pay. I now have $1600 hospital bill to pay on top of all the oncology bills.
NUTS! Twenty five years of paying this company for health insurance and NOT getting to fill my deductable because I WAS healthy. Now I need them and they balk. AAUUGH!!!!

Not bringing anything to the table financially…
I have always been the type of person who HAS to work. I have always had a job, and feel useless if I don’t. Well, since quiting the post office in January, I have started to feel like I am not doing anything for my family financially, and this feeling sucks. Yeah, I cook, clean, watch the kids, blah blah blah, but I don’t make any money! I guess I am fortunate enough to not have to work, but even if I worked outside of the house, I would be needing to pull in some mad cash to cover the babysitting. My oldest is 4 with a dec. b-day, so she can’t start school untill next year, so I would have to have all three in day care for a year….EXPENSIVE!
Anyway, I have been researching different things to do from home, and half of them seem to be a scam….makes you wonder…but I think I finally found something to do, that I can do from home. Medical Transcriptionist. I have done research after google searches and finally it boiled down to 2 on-line schools… I have picked one out, figured the cost, and it only takes a year to complete. MT’s make anywhere from $24K for part tiome and itgoes up from there. And I can sit at home on my computer and do this, with my kids there, so it sounds pretty good.
Has anyone done this, or know anyone who has? My friend has, but she went to a school in Austin, and I won’t be able to find a babysitter to go to school with Hubby working shift work. Last time I tried school, I had to drop out with less than a month left in the semester, cause I had no sitter. That is why the on-line courses sound good. I want to get another person’s opinion on this……Â

Health Care
The fact of the matter is that there are millions of people in this country who have no form of health care coverage at all. Employers are increasingly eliminating health insurance or heavily reducing it, leaving employees with no recourse. The price of health care is enough to send most people into major debt, some medical tests can now cost thousands of dollars to run. We send millions of dollars overseas to help other countries but can’t find a viable way to provide affordable health care for our own citizens? Insanity.
If you don’t think healthcare is a serious issue in this country, lets take a look at Diabetes. There are an estimated 30 million people in this country known to have Diabetes, many of them uninsured. Diabetics have a high risk of heart disease, kidney disease, and limb amputation; medical intervention can eliminate or reduce chances of diseases developing. We would save millions of lives and billions of dollars by having affordable health care for these people to make sure that they get the proper care to make sure they never have to lose a limb. Do you know how much a wheel chair or an artifical arm costs?  When these people can no longer support themselves guess what going to happen? They’ll be put on SSI and Medicade which will cost us alot more later then it would to provide basic care now. Thats just Diabetes, I’m not even factoring in AIDS, cancer, the aging baby boomers, etc..
