Warrant, cocaine lead to job seeker's arrest

JACKSON, Mich. – A mid-Michigan man who'd been looking for work found trouble after an arrest warrant popped up during a background check at a police station. Police also found cocaine in his pocket. The company the man was applying to required a police background check.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reported that after running the 29-year-old man's name through their computer system Wednesday, police learned he was wanted on a domestic violence charge.

Deputy Police Chief John Holda said that while searching him at the station, an officer found several rocks of cocaine.

The man was being held in the county jail and will be arraigned on the domestic violence charge and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Abusing rescue services

By: AZK in People Who Are..., Abuse - on July 7th, 2008

Why do so many people seem to lack common sense, or consideration for the various Rescue Services [be they paid or volunteer entities].  It exacerbates {PISSES} me to no end, when I had to respond to perform Search & Rescue duties, for person/s who were so lacking in proper training they had NO RIGHT attempting [choose your own scenario] something.  The result of their ineptness, is that the Responders quite often endander their own lives, pulling the so-called-victims 'fat out of the fire'.   To add inslut to injury, often the victim states 'gee, I was just having a little fun' {or some other idiotic comment} or 'It was an accident' as if this relieves them of the responsibility for their actions.  Stop and analyze a given 'accident', and you'll conclude a true acccident is an EXTREMELY RARE occurance.  In most cases the event is a demonstration of negligence; pure & simple.

Witness the fools who go around  train or flooded area barricades, then expect to be rescued.  I'm of the mind to have all costs of a rescue, be born by the 'victum' .  There should be 'automatic penalities' for stupidity, which become a drain on society.  In many instances actual jail time is appropriate. BTW, if the Responder is a volunteer, he/she rarely is compensated for damage/wear & tear and initial or replacement costs of personally purchased equipment.

Question for slappy

By: AKsnowbunnie in Drugs, Abuse - on January 10th, 2008

All are welcome to weigh in though! I'm just asking slappy because he knows this stuff better then all of us! Heck, he lives it!

Most of you know the story about my ex, and the crackheads. If you don't, well you'll just have to wait to hear the WHOLE TRUTH.

So recently, my ex changed his plea to "guilty" because they offered him time served and probation. His lawyer, and everyone else told him to turn it down, because taking it meant he was pleading guilty to something he didn't do. I have been told to keep my mouth shut about what I saw. He got time served and 5 years probation to plead guilty to an assault charge. Misdemeanor, not felony (like he was charged with at the start).

He had a court date and online it says "Case Disposed" - I understand that this means the case is closed (due to his guilty plea bargain). Does this mean I can come out and say what hasn't been said? We have a radio guy that would love to hear this story, does this mean I can get in touch with him and finally let the truth be heard? Does this mean that I can finally stop lying to everyone I meet, for sake of the trial, about what REALLY happened that day? I know that the guy that pulled the gun on us has been dead for a while now, but is it REALLY ok for me to be "public" about what happened that day.

I'm asking slappy because he deals with these losers, and I heard from them recently. I want to know if I'm safe to come out and talk about it, or if I should keep my mouth shut for my lifes sake?

Old Friend that became a drug addict

By: Madaboutmesses in People Who Are..., Drugs, Abuse - on October 31st, 2007

15 years ago I was friends with a guy that I met at the gym.  We kind of lost touch over the years. I heard he was deeply involved with drugs, was no longer able to hold down a job, and was sleeping on someone's couch for 20 months.  About two weeks ago I get a call from him demanding that he moves in with me. I seriously don't think we have spoken in three or four years.  I told I was not in a position to help him and he went ballastic (sp?).  He has sent me some terrible text and voice messages telling me that he hopes I burn in hell.  I do not really know this person, and haven't spoken to him in depth in years, and now he is attacking me. I don't want to sound paranoid, but I am glad I have an alarm system. Who knows what a drug addict with nothing to lose might do.

What ever happened to our schools?

By: navybrat76 in People Who Are..., Suggest-A-Peeve, OT: Not Necessarily a Pet Peeve, Parenting, Children, Laws, Love, Health, Abuse, Life, Motherhood/Moms - on October 23rd, 2007

The title pretty much says what the rest of this post will say.

My 9 year old daughter had a half day of school last Wednesday, and then Thursday and Friday were Fall Break — which meant no school.

As my 9 year old daughter was riding the bus on the way home Wednesday, she had a girl and the girls older sister sitting behind her on the bus.  Needless to say, the grabbed her hair and pulled a large chunk out of her head, told her "that her mom was a fat cow that needed to die, and that she needed to die, and they were willing to help with making sure that {we} died."

My daughter's babysitter called me on my cell phone at work to describe the problem because my daughter was crying and wouldn't talk to her.  I asked her to put my daughter on the phone, and my daughter got onto the phone.  I asked "what happened?" "why are you crying?"  And that is when she told me the above.  I told her that I had to go and that I would call her back here in a few minutes.

I called the school and spoke to the principal and vice principal.  They both told me "well, because it happened on the bus, we don't have rights to do anything about this!"  So, by that time, I was fuming mad!  They continued to say, "we can't do anything until after Fall Break is over and we resume school on Monday!"  So I called the transportation department for my daughter's school district, explained to them what had happened, and then they proceeded to tell me "Ma'am, I know you are upset, but when it comes down to it, the driver needs to keep her eyes on the road and the assistant just can keep track of 50-60 kids at all times that ride on that particular bus."  That set me on fire!  I asked if there was any way that my daughter or the girls who caused this problem could be separated on the bus, they reply was "well, we have assigned seating, and we just can't move people every time there is a little scuffle or when  parents want to make a mountain out of a molehill".  Finally, with no cooperation, I called the police, made a report and tried to calm my 9 year old daughter down in the process.

Needless to say, since last Wednesday my 9 year old daughter has not slept more than 90 minutes a night.  Which in turn means that I have not slept more than 90 minutes a night (she will wake me up screaming and saying "no mommy, we can't go to sleep, they will come in here and get me and you and we will die!").

With the way schools are going today with bullies picking on someone and the underdog going back to the school with vengence to do harm, I would think that my 9 year old daughters school would be thinking "we need to think about this, and if it means we have to work on Fall Break, then we need to find a solution to this problem before school resumes on Monday!"  Wait a minute, no that is me being reasonable and thinking, on the other hand the school was selfish and thinking "oh we need the break and will take care of this on Monday when we get back, heck it might just blow over and everyone will just completely forget about it!"

What else bothers me the most are the two girls that caused this problem to my daughter, the oldest is 11, and the youngest was 8.  So what in the heck are the parents teaching these kids?  There parents need to experience the past 6 days of no sleep like I have had to, and then having to fight with my child to explain to her that she needs to go to school, she needs to get an education in order to succeed in this world, and she needs to put on a brave front to have people not see that this is upsetting her, and most of all she needs to smile and be happy.

What do you do when something like this happens?  What steps can you take to resolve the issue without the drastics of being sue happy?  What can I do in order to get my daughter to rest at ease an sleep for a night, not only because I know she needs the sleep, but for me who is trying to work my 10 1/2 hour days plus try to fight this situation and to get the schools to realize that this needs to be taken care of and not in a laughing matter!?!

Sorry for rambling, and not being correct with my grammar and spelling.  With no sleep its hard to type and think straight!!

There can be no doubt any longer

By: TGIX in Drugs, Abuse - on October 1st, 2007

Ev en the mercenaries, Blackwater itself, admits it!

We need to get out and get out yesterday. Too much damage has already been done. Too many tens of thousands have been needlessly killed. It's been far more than Sadam ever killed. Add to that the cost of our country's image around the entire world and the crippling financial cost.

There can't be a single justification for continuing this unjust war. It was wrong to begin with and it is wrong to continue. There has been ZERO gain. Our puppet government there enjoys no support and is powerless. Ironically, that is the very reason Bush gives that we should stay, because his oh so successfully installed puppet government is go great that it can not handle itself, can't survive without us there! Huh? What kind of sheer insanity is that? Our mercenaries are murdering innocent civilians there, the ones we were supposed to be liberating from Saddam.

The mere thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. Are all of those so-called leaders on drugs? I can't think of any other explanation. Bush must STILL be an alcoholic and cocaine addict or something. I never did believe he ever kicked either of those disgusting habits and his actions betray his illness whether it's from continued drinking and drug abuse or the destruction to whatever brain he ever once had that all that abuse he did to himself caused when in college as a (gag) cheerleader.

Update

By: AKsnowbunnie in Uncategorized, Boyfriends, Laws, Lawyers, Drugs, Abuse - on August 8th, 2007

Ok, so I went to the DA’s office and met with the guy from there that wants to indite (sp) my ex. He asks me what I saw, and never once questions the difference of what I tell him vs. what I told the cops. Was super nice to me the entire time too. Anywho, my ex is going to be charged, as I was told by his lawyers detective, and I will have to go back during the trial to say it all over again. Although I was told by the cop there that in his 8 years of working he went to 2 trials that really went to a trial after being approved by the Grand Jury to charge someone.

It was amusing in one part though…….. As I was talking to the DA before the hearing I said something along the lines of “I had been calling the cops, DEA, FBI, legislatures, etc for four months and they still did nothing - how scary is that” and the other witness said “If the stupid cops would have done something this **** would have never happened”….. all while a cop was sitting in the room. It’s good to know Karma had our side then.

Oh, and Karma having our side when the scumbag drug/hooker dealer that pulled the gun died in an accident while running from the cops. Go Karma, Go.

Stupid Cops (don’t get offended slappy)

By: AKsnowbunnie in Dating, Laws, Lawyers, Drugs, Abuse - on August 7th, 2007

So ya’ll know the nonsense I was dealing with at the old house - boyfriend shoots at a gun-yielding crack dealer and he gets in trouble. Well today I got my subpoena. Gotta go to court tomorrow and tell them what I saw. I call his lawyer because it says I have to be there early to talk to the Assistant DA - sounds fishy to me. His lawyer calls me back and says I don’t *have* to say anything to the Asst. DA if I don’t want to, but that I must speak the truth while on stand. So I ask him “What I told the cops, or what I really saw”… *enter the lawyers pause* “you saw something?”.     Yes dip****, I told you I lied to the cops because after 4 months of phone calls they wouldn’t get the crack dealer out, WTF makes you think I told them the truth in an interview when I wasn’t sworn in.

Now I get to have coffee with HIS detective to tell her the facts of what I saw. Things are getting REAL interesting… The DA is NOT going to be happy tomorrow!!! I just don’t get how they can still be pressing charges. He was charged with 1 first deg. assault, and 3 third degrees. The first degree has moved out of the state, two of the third degrees have met with HIS lawyer and given up their rights to be a “victim” and the third died in a car accident while trying to outrun the cops (the guy that pulled the gun out). Makes no sense to me.

I am kinda looking forward to pissing off the prosecution tomorrow though!

Same stupid rant about people that are ADDICTED to DRUGS!!!

By: WalterTH3rd in Drugs, Abuse - on July 26th, 2007

I used to work with a very nice man; funny, smart, VERY well groomed (when I first started working with him). We were both managers at the restaurant and he told me the first day that he was a recovering alcoholic AND a recovering HEROIN addict! Fine, he was admiting to us right out the box and his only ‘real’ rule was that he had a job as long as he STAYED clean. This man worked with me for MOST of the summer that followed, and I thought he was doing great! Even his dad (whom I knew before I met his son) was proud of how good he was doing.

One night, however, while wewere closing down, this man, (let’s call him ‘Mike’ for ease) called together the night wait staff together and held a wine tasting seminar! Well, I knew that, as an alcoholic, the LAST thing he should have been doing was wine tasting or ANY sort of ALCOHOL tasting! I told him this, of course, and he looked at me, smiled and replied, ‘I can handle it!’ Saddend, I shook my head and went to finish the rest of the closing. I also left a note for the GM that Mike had started drinking agian in his private inbox.

Less than two week later, Mike called in sick, sounding VERY hung-over and I covered his shift. The next time he came in, he looked completely different - his clothes looked like he had worn them for DAYS without washing OR ironing, HE looked like he spent DAYS in those clothes without washing OR brushing, he SMELLED like I wasn’t too far off with my assumptions, and all he would tell me was that he had a bad night and just hadn’t been home to wash up, but he would be able to work his shift that night.

Before I could send him home, the GM happened by (alright, he was waiting to see if Mike was going to show up for his shift) and suspended him on the spot and sent him home. That was the last time I saw Mike. I did talk with his father soon after that and he told me that Mike had put himself into rehab because not only had he started drinking again, he also started the horse again. (Do they still call Heroin ‘Horse’?) That was nearly 6 years ago.

Today, I ran into Mikes dad and asked how Mike was doing. He looked at me and told me Mike had overdosed five months ago, and his body hadn’t been found for about 3 weeks AFTER he died (it was in an aboandoned lot in a VERY seedy part of a town near here). He also told me that Mike had been in another rehab house and was kicked out FOR DEALING DRUGS!

Dang it you STUPID MFin’, SELFISH, LONELY, SCARED, IDIOTIC, THOUGHTLESS DRUG ADDICTS! YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES FEELING BAD, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONES NOT DEALING WITH REALITY! DON’T YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO THOSE YOU LEAVE BEHIND?!?! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT LOVE YOU AND WOULD HELP YOU IF YOU ASK OR EVEN IF YOU DON’T ASK?!?!? HOW DARE YOU CONSIDER PUTTING YOURSELF THROUGH THIS! HOW DARE YOU PUT US THROUGH THIS! I HATE EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU AND I LOVE EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU AT THE SAME TIME!!!! I HATE THAT YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE THIS PHUQE YOU ALL!!!!!

Sorry for that capitalization of how I am feeling right now, but that is ALL I am sorry about. You all have a nice day.

steroids

By: soxdude7 in People Who Are..., In the News, Drugs, Abuse, Sports, Baseball, Steroids - on July 12th, 2007

I feel like, in all sports, we have passed the point where it is worth complaining about/questioning people for their steroid use. It’s so evident to me that the majority of athletes are using steroids and that we would thus have to subject the whole sports world to ridicule which is ludacris to consider.

Drive Drunk In MY County do ya ?

By: slappy in People Who Are..., Abuse - on June 22nd, 2007

I Love Williamson County Texas

A Williamson County jury has sentenced a 52-year-old man to 70 years in prison after finding him guilty of felony driving while intoxicated.

The jury also found that the vehicle driven by Wendel Glenn Klotz was used as a deadly weapon, making Klotz ineligible for parole for 30 years.

During trial, Klotz tried to convince the jury that he got intoxicated back at home after his accident in the truck. During a punishment hearing, the jury learned Klotz had seven prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. The convictions were in 1983 (2 cases), 1987 (2 cases), 1988, 1991 and 1996.

He failed to complete probation every time he received it and went to prison four times. He had received numerous opportunities for treatment and was kicked out of the Central Texas Treatment Center, a local inpatient treatment facility for chronic drunks and drug abusers.

“There is no excuse for getting into a truck and driving drunk,” said District Attorney John Bradley. “This criminal received every possible opportunity to change his criminal behavior. There is no doubt in my mind that this sentence will save lives.”
