Daughters teacher fled to Mexico…
Hmmm….. Ok, what is going to happen when school starts back up? Over the holiday break my daughters teacher was having a nasty custody battle with her ex. When they went to exchange the child, the child ran off. There have been posters everywhere for this girl. Now the paper is reporting that the brother (of the missing girl) has been arrested and the mother fled to Mexico. According to the police the brother was waiting for the sister and took her to Mexico and the mother knew she was there. Without getting into why they are having a custody fight I want to know what is going to happen when school resumes next week. Apparently the teacher is NOT going to be in class, she has a warrent out for her and she is in Mexico. My daughter really liked her teacher and I am not sure how to explain this to her. Of course since school is out, the school hasn't said anything either.

Names
The post about the couple naming their kid Adolf Hotler got me to thinking of all the names I see nowadays. My youngest is six and I am in disbelief over some of the names I see. True, they aren't on the same level as A.H, but still.
There was one kid names Kevlar. Isn't that what they make bullet-proof vests out of? Then there's Excetera. I'm not kidding. Arionah.
One girl had a name with the old english "a". You know, the one that looks like a combination of "e" and"a"? The parents finally got their heads out of their butts and changed it to a normal "a" because the little girl had a hard time learning it, plus the fact that the letter doesn't exist anymore so it's impractical (how will she be able to type her name throughout her life?). Did you know you can spell "emily" as "Emmaliegh"? WTH?
My friends mother is a teaching assisitant and she told me that I'd be surprised at how many ways there are to spell "Jamie". And the parents get mad if you mis-pronounce or mis-spell a name.
What ever happend to normal names like, say, Dawn? or Walter?
Or "slappy"?

Man sprays 'toilet-papering' teens with fox urine
WILLMAR, Minn. – A 50-year-old man who told authorities he was fed up with teens toilet-papering his house decided to defend his property — with a squirt gun filled with fox urine. Now, Scott Wagar is in trouble with the law.
Wagar pleaded not guilty on Wednesday in Kandiyohi County District Court to misdemeanor assault and other charges. He was released on personal recognizance.
According to police, Wagar was on his property Sept. 16 when he used night vision goggles to see 15-20 people running toward his place. He told police that he told them to leave, swore at them and sprayed them with the fox urine. He also allegedly struggled with one of the teens.
A phone message left at a home listing for a Scott Wagar was not immediately returned to The Associated Press.

Being busy: a badge of honor?
In order not to have too much stress in my life, I figured out ways for me to have time to myself without neglecting the family, housework, and work. When I talk with people about this they act like I'm some sort of lazy person. All I hear is about how they don't have time for this or that when I explain how I do it. It wouldn't be so bad but they act like they're bragging that they don't have time for themselves.
Why is it so horrible that I do that? Those people are so stressed and they act like it's a badge of honor-like I should be ashamed that I'm not as stressed as they are.
Do any of you find ways to de-stress yourselves? And do others make you feel bad about it?

Hmmm, must be all the LEGAL drugs!!!!
Dutch court convicts 2 of stealing virtual items
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – A Dutch court has convicted two youths of theft for stealing virtual items in a computer game and sentenced them to community service.
Only a handful of such cases have been heard in the world, and they have reached varying conclusions about the legal status of "virtual goods."
The Leeuwarden District Court says the culprits, 15 and 14 years old, coerced a 13-year-old boy into transferring a "virtual amulet and a virtual mask" from the online adventure game RuneScape to their game accounts.
"These virtual goods are goods (under Dutch law), so this is theft," the court said Tuesday in a summary of its ruling.
Identities of the minors were not released.
The 15-year-old was sentenced to 200 hours service, and the 14-year-old to 160 hours.

I have HAD it
First off Iggy - the "post your rant" has moved down on the left, not sure if you intended that to happen… almost had me thinking I couldn't post anything new.
ON TO MY RANT: Stupid Christmas, and stupid family. For starters, I did NOT want to go home for the holiday in the first place. But, because my mom wanted me to and my brother wanted me to meet my nephew I decided I would. Not for me, FOR THEM. I do not have enough vacation time, so when I come back to work my paycheck will be short, SEVERELY short. This was ok with me being I have my PFD in the bank still, just for that reason.
Then we had the "where to spend x-mas" fiasco. It SHOULD have been understood that we are spending it where *I* consider home, after all I am the one traveling from f-ing Alaska for the holiday. But no, every time I talk to my parents I get told "Your brother and his wife want to spend it at THEIR home with their new baby". I said "well they can do whatever they want to do, but if I don't see my brother on x-mas then he's no longer my brother". End of story. Should be anyways. I bought my ticket to an airport half an hour from home to save on driving in winter.
We talk on the phone, and every time we talk on the phone my parents say "We don't know what your brother is doing for x-mas" and I say the same thing, if he's not home, blah blah blah. We chat in emails, and I made DAMN sure that I will not have to sit in a car to drive to Maryland after having to sit on a plane for all them hours. Hence the reason I am flying to a small airport that isn't far from the house - because I don't want to fly and then sit in a car for hours. As far as I know everything is good.
Last night I get an email from my mom…. "Your brother and his wife really want to spend X-mas at home with their new baby". And I flipped. I mean seriously if she was in person I would have knocked her f'ing teeth into next Tuesday. So I send her an email back, and I don't hold back. I tell her I'm sick of hearing this, and that I don't really give a flying-chit what they "want". Hell I "want" to go to the Steelers game on the 28th. And hell, I didn't even "want" to fly home for X-mas in the first place! I "want" a new Mac Laptop and some clothes. I "want" to be drunk and home in Alaska for x-mas, but I GAVE UP what I wanted to please other people, and they should be doing the same. Then I said I would sleep on it, and if I woke up just as angry as I was then, I was cancelling my ticket home.
I haven't heard back from that email, and I woke up FURIOUS that I even have to deal with this chaos. Another reason I didn't want to fly home - it's always a f'ing headache and is NOT a vacation. So I called my mom's cellphone to tell her I'm not coming home now, and my dad answers. He said "Yeah, I brought her phone so I could call your brother and nail down for sure when we're going down there". AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!! It took everything in my body to not flip out on him right then. But I bit my lip (now it's bleeding) and hung up without letting him know. Then I called my mom at work, and she says "no no no, that's not what's happening, your brother is coming up to PA for x-mas being you're coming in". I said "I don't care, it's too late, and I'm done with this chaos and headache, it's over I'm not coming home".
She tried all the normal "mom" tactics - the "you broke my heart" and the "don't make decisions when you're angry" and the guilt trip. Problem with her guilt trip is that she has been pissing me off since I bought the ticket, and it's impossible to guilt trip me. I told her what dad said, and she said "oh I talked to your brother last night, your dad doesn't know". WTF??? You people f'ing live together and you can't have the same god damn story??
So I've decided that I am cancelling my ticket this afternoon. I have had it. I have a headache bigger then Texas, and this is again not going to be a vacation. I refuse to spend this holiday miserable doing things for other people and then getting crapped on by them. It's over, finished. I am so pissed off right now. It's October and this vacation already blows, so I'm not going on it. She can hate me for it I don't care, right now I hate all of them for not getting their **** together, and expecting me to bend over backwards while on MY vacation. They wanted me to come home, so I bought the ticket. Now they can't spend ONE f'ing day with me so fuk them!
My other rant: I ate all my xanax trying to calm down and I'm still flipping out…. they need to make that **** stronger.

Sorry to interupt, but I need ALL of you to pray here:
I will just post the email I just got, it says it all to any of you that remember what happened (BTW, I left the names intact so you know where to aim the prayers towards):
Dear Friends & Family,
I am sending this to quite a few of you to ask for special prayer coverage; Alisa called and left me a message at work just a while ago that she really needs some prayer help. Her ugly divorce continues to drag on and the kids are feeling the brunt of their dad’s tremendous anger and bitterness. He continues convincing them that he has been completely wronged and has not deserved any of this, even though he is unemployed and now homeless and doing jail time (on weekends) for his illegal gun possession conviction. Summer locked Alisa out of the house today and was yelling horrible names at her; there have been other such incidents in the recent past as well. The damage this is doing to Summer and Josh is hard to imagine. Please pray that God will intervene every day in the coming weeks and give Alisa great grace and wisdom in dealing with her children’s anger and confusion. She has continued to report things to the probation office involved and to CPS and has the children in counseling; at some point this has got to get better. I believe there is a court date to conclude the divorce on Sept. 30th. Thank you so much for your prayers.
Blessings,
Colleen

Had a ‘good’ laugh at work tonight. . .
well, maybe not a 'good' laugh, I was ROFLMFAO, but AFTER this person left. Here's what happened -
A woman and her FIVE little kids come up to the cashiers stand. Now it was apparent that the term, 'Ghetto' was coined for them as soon as she opened her mouth and asked, 'I have this coupon for Kids eat free and I would like to use it.' 'No problem, ma'am, how old are you kids and will anyone else be joining you?'
'No, I am not going to eat, I just want the meals for my children.'
'Oh, I see. But ma'am, as you can see on your coupons, it clearly states the kids eat free WITH the purchase of one adult meal, so you are going to have to buy dinner to get the free meal.'
'Well, I told you, I am NOT going to eat, just h'ere to feed the kids is all. Can I speak to a manager?'
This is where I stepped in (I am still in training, but I am at the end and am 'running' the floor at this time.) 'Ma'am, can I help?'
'Yes, I TOLD your cashier that I am NOT going to eat and therefore should NOT have to PAY for my kids FREE meals. YOUR coupon doesn't say I have to buy ANYTHING first!.' (BTW, she is getting louder and louder.) I responded by showing her the coupon she had on the counter, WITH my pen to UNDERLINE what I was about to say, 'Ma'am, it plainly states right here that 'Kids eat free WITH purchase of an ADULT MEAL' (I was smiling since perhaps she misread the coupons language. It happens, I guess.)
Now she is REALLY getting louder, but 'luckily' the GM walks up and asks what he could do to help.
O-M-G!!! She REALLY let into him! I had her 'calming down' a little, but when HE walked up, a WHITE man (oh, did I forget to mention she is Black?), ALL she yelled was that IF she were White, she wouldn't be going through all the questions, but would be sitting with her kids whilst they ATE!
Now my GM is usually a calm man, so he stated, 'No, it isn't you color, your money is just as good as ANYONE'S money. But, we do not just GIVE food away, the coupon states VERY plainly what has to happen to get your kids that free meal, and that is you MUST pay for YOUR meal.'
'But I have already TOLD you, I am NOT going to EAT, YOU ARE JUST BEING STUPID AND RACIST!'
Now my GM answers back, 'First of all, while you are entitled to think what you want, IF you are going to act this way, perhaps it would be 'easier' if you did not dine with us today.' As he said this, she gathered her children and STORMED off, still yelling, 'I CAN pay, but I ain't paying to eat in THIS dirty, over priced worthless place, EVER!'
I truly feel bad for her children, they will probably grow up thinking and
ACTING just like mommy!
But DESPITE the poor example she was giving her kids, I had a good laugh at the situation, in fact, I had a good laugh with the GM, the cashier, the OTHER manager (another Black man, who only came in at the very end), the other manager in training, and the closest station attendant (like a waitress/busser) that also witnessed this whole thing happening! I just LOVE managing restaurants, I ALWAYS meet the most interesting people!!!
Boy oh boy, people are the FUNNIEST of all animals, aren't they?

yesterday
it turned out to be pretty cool for a birthday. haven't had a real good one in a while. I had to work, but it was ok cuz my co-workers surprised me with a cake and ice cream! when I got home, I had a couple of b-day cards, one from David's parents with 50 bucks in it and another from David and the kids with a $50 itunes gift card! I already had a cake at home as well. Later we went out to eat with the kids to Miyako, a hibachi restaurant!! it was so cool and fun to watch the guy put on a show with the food. the kids LOVED it and I hadn't been to one since I was a kid. the food wasn't bad either. it was a little pricey (116.00), but what the hell, it was a special occasion.
along with all of this, David had an interview with Shell Motiva (a chemical plant) and they HIRED him. he should start in Oct.!!! so bye bye Fedex for him. he was so happy and excited. that's the job he wanted cuz he did his internship there. I'd say all in all, it was a good day. AND today I'm off from work so I get to chill today! maybe get my nails done and wash my truck. Life can be good when you least expect it!

Update on Baseball kid…
OK My radio guys are talking about this story right now. Turns out the league this pitcher kid plays on is a confidence building league. It's for kids around the age of 9 that have NEVER played ANY sport before. It's a confidence building league that helps beginners learn the sport so that in a year or so they can play with kids their age that have played before in the past.
The pitcher kid was OFFERED to move up to a different league, and he said NO he didn't want to. They have broken the team up and moved the kids onto other teams. They told the kid that pitches he can play, but NOT pitch, and he said no that he wanted to pitch. So due to hearing the rest of the story, I'm going to change my opinion of it. There is no way this kid is a beginner, and he shouldn't have been on a league that is a confidence builder to help kids LEARN the sport. He should have been on a higher league for his level. No way was this the kids first time touching a baseball!
here's the article: http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/08/9-year-old-pitc.html

SH8T!
Clint is getting laid off on Sept. 7. His anniversary date is Sept. 11th (lucky day, I think not) if he would have made those last 4 days, he would have been eligable for sub-pay, and he would have been offered a lay-off package of $10,000.00 plus $400.00 for every year worked, but now it is nothing but the un-employment line. He has been job hunting since the news broke that there were going to be layoffs 60+ days ago, but to no avail. So we are basically screwed, unless we win the mega-millions lottery that we bought tickets for…..but doubt that will happen.
Kaylie started school today, and she looked really cute and is super excited. She has always gone to bed at 8:30, but could not fall asleep (because of excitement) until around 10:30. I am so excited for her, but at the same time, a little upset, because now time will fly by even faster for my baby…..who is no longer a baby, but a big girl.
Hopefully something good will come out of the madness. We are hopefull that he will start getting interviews soon.

‘Finally’ SOMETHING Barbie IS good for!!!
Man uses Barbie fishing rod to make record catch
Fri Aug 22, 2:51 AM ET
David Hayes' granddaughter just asked him to hold her Barbie rod and reel while she went to the bathroom. He did. And seconds later he landed the state record channel catfish at 21 pounds, 1 ounce.
Alyssa's father had bought the pink Barbie fishing rod for Christmas and she had caught a few bluegill before her grandfather hauled in the catfish.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported the catch Aug. 5 in eastern Wilkes County has been certified as a record by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
Hayes and his granddaughter have been fishing in the pond behind his house since she was big enough to hold a pole.
Hayes said his granddaughter worried he would break her rod. He landed the 21-pound fish on a 6-pound test line. It was 32 inches long, 2 inches longer than the rod.

Today is the day…
So I have been super busy at work, fiscal year is almost over and we are doing the budget. yay…….so much fun I can hardly stand it. So I haven't been able to get on here in a while, except to leave a comment or two, but today is the day for a few things, so it is now time to get the peeves off my chest.
We are supposed to find out if Clint gets laid off today. We are on pins and freakin needles waiting for an answer. They can extend the date for as long as they want up to 60 days, but can only extend it once. The local paper says they can extend the date from anything like 60 days to just over the weekend. His 3 year anniversary is Sept. 11 (lucky day, right?) and if Alcoa extends the date past then, he will be eligable for sub-pay, if they do it before his 3 year mark, then he will get nothing but unemployment. Damn the waiting.
As I said above we are doing a budget at work. They said the salaries for the department I work in are out of wack. They wanted to do a $2/hr raise for the whole department. Now they are saying that they are just going to do 5%. So instead of bringing in an extra $320 a month, we will be bringing in alot less, but I guess a raise is a raise, right? Nope, wrong. While they are saying they will give us this raise, they are going to take money out of our checks to help pay for the raise in our medical insurance. So they give-ith and take-ith away. So we are not making anything extra that they are not going to get back anyway.
School starts for my oldest on Monday. Don't know if I am excited or upset yet. I am glad she will be starting school, but I am upset because now I have no control of the people that will have negaitive impacts on her. I know there are shi*ty parents that raise shi*ty kids with shi*ty attitudes, but I don't want that to rub off on her. I am trying to be positive, because I know she will meet some great new people, but she will also meet negative people, and that sucks. We met her teacher last night, and she seems real nice, and excited about her new students. I heard she is a very good teacher, so I am thankful for that. They have been remodeling the kitchen at the Elementary since last year, it still isn't done, so the Jr. High is making extra food for the Elem. and shipping it over, for most of the school year. I am glad Kaylie wanted a lunch box, and is taking her lunch.
My aunt just had a baby. This is not so much a bad thing, but parts of it are. She is 45! She refused to have any of her now 4 kids in a hospital, she has them at home with a midwife. They could barely support the 3 kids they had, so hell, lets add one more. Then to make matters worse, she is taking off work for a YEAR! If her husband had a stable job, I am sure they could make it, but he doesn't. Then to add insult to injury, they just moved in with my grandmother, who JUST put my 96 year old great grandmother in a nursing home, so now the freedom of going to the bathroom without my great-grandmother busting in, is now eclipsed my having 4 kids bust in on her. My aunt is the baby of the family, but there comes a time to own up to your responsibilities. She says that God has put her where she is today, but I don't believe that. God would not intentionally make her move in with my grandmother! Yes, I do believe that God puts obsticles and choices in your path, but it is up to YOU to decide which path to take. The easy way is not always the right one. You don't do something because it is easy, you choose the path that better directs your life and the life of your family.
I am getting off my soap box now, but I am sure I will find something else to b*tch about later.

School Answering Machine!
This is hilarious - no
wonder some people were offended! This is the message that the Pacific Palisades
High School California staff voted unanimously to record on their school
telephone answering machine.
This is the actual answering machine message for the school. This came about because they implemented a policy requiring students and parents to be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework.
The school and teachers are being sued by parents who want their children's failing grades changed to passing grades - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did not complete enough school work to pass their classes.
The outgoing message:
Hello! You have reached the automated answering
service of your school. In order to assist you in connecting to the right staff
member, please listen to all the options before making a selection:
To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1
To make excuses for why your child did not do his work -Press 2
To complain about what we do - Press 3
To swear at staff members - Press 4
To ask why you didn't get information that was already enclosed in your newsletter and several flyers mailed to you - Press 5
If you want us to raise your child - Press 6
If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Pres s 7
To request another teacher, for the third time this year - Press 8
To complain about bus transportation - Press 9
To complain about school lunches - Press 0
If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable and responsible for his/her own behavior, class work, homework and that it's not the teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort: Hang up and have a nice day!
If you want this in Spanish, move to a country that speaks it!

Another Village Has Lost Its Idiot
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/2608107 6/
I'm sorry the kid had to hear this but there really isn't much that the company can do to correct it, there is nothing wrong or defective with the walkie talkies. Walkie talkies and CB's work by transmitting and receiving radio signals which can be affected by things like the weather, proximty, or signal strength. Ever been listening to a staticy radio station which sound like there are different signals coming in at the same time? Its the same principal.
She needs to quit being an airhead, find a different toy for the brat to play with.

WHAT? These people are CRAZY!
Come on…this is ridiculous. Even with the fact that life comes from God doesn't mean you can't try to controll how many kids you have. Who is gonna raise these kids when the parents die? I don't know how the welfare system works in Canada, but I bet they are on welfare to provide for all these kids! Stories like this boil my blood!!!!
Didn't the catholics even change their views on birth control?
