Why are so many people suckered into this madness? I hate that these stores put out these "great" offers for 4AM, not only that but only have a VERY limited amount of the "great deal". You'll get 200 people lining up the night before in hopes snagging one of 50 Playstations, Stupid.

Is it me or is it getting outrageous that Nintendo Wii and Elmo dolls are short every year? They have the whole year to produce the stupid things yet have a small supply for Christmas? Bull! Its just a marketing tool to make the product seem more hip or cool and inflate prices to maximize profit.

The worst part of this day for me is the people shopping, people in the stores are usually rude, cranky, and pushy. I have seen people in shouting matches and fist fights over the most trival things. People will push, pull, and shove to get what they want.  Parking is a nightmare! The cashiers and other staff in the store are so over worked and look like deer caught in headlights.

No thanks I'll go to the office to work or just stay home.

Rant: Work internet sucks!! We have to reset constantly, and we can't seem to hold our connection. Satellite internet blows chunks, but there is nothing we can do about it unless we want to spend a few million. And we're not big enough of a company to do that!

Rave: Hockey meet and greet tonight, I get to meet ALL the players and it's free. Also, I bought my ticket for the opening game on Friday night! I'd hit on a player but they don't have enough teeth!

Rant: My roommate with his "you should" nonsense. Just because I live with him does not mean he is welcome to tell me how I should live or what I should do in terms of ANYTHING that does not effect him or our living conditions. He did it when I bought my car "you should get this, you should get this" he did it when I talked about getting a laptop "you should get this, you should look into this". And now he's done it with my winter tires "Well you should have done this or this or this instead". SHUT IT and stay the HELL out of my business!

Rave: Winter is TOTALLY here. It's been snowing all day, and they're saying 9" by tonight. AND my studs (that my roommate said were a waste of money) have already come in handy TWO DAYS in a row!! My Equinox is a freakin' tank!! I ♥ it so much!

Don't you just hate it when some brats on the phone whining to her dad that she probably wants a new car added to her "collection" and you know that he's probably saying stuff like "Oh honey, not today, maybe tomorrow" and her response would probably be "But DAAAAAAAADDY!" I seriously hate that and she's like talking in a small elevator and you can smell her stupid, expensive lip gloss in the air. Talk about rude and spoiled. HELLO??? I can't believe they want to protest this funeral!! My local radio guys were talking about it, and they said that the kids friends and family have stated that IF these people show up at the funeral they will handle things themeselves. Well, this is just one of those weeks I am guessing. After my ****ty day Tuesday, I woke up Wednesday and my neck ended up super screwed up in the first hour of my day. I went all day in severe pain until I could finally go see my chiropractor. Still in pain, but have a much larger range of motion, and it's even better today. Sorry if this rant is long, but I have to get it all out, and it's better to tell the whole story then just part.

Anyways, yesterday at work the Receptionist called off. Typically when our receptionist doesn't come in the dispatcher and GM answer phones. Well the dispatcher decided not to come in as well. Being I had nothing to do I went down an answered called to save the GM a MAJOR headache (he now has to take ALL dispatch calls). Not to "toot my own horn" but I'm an AWESOME receptionist, and I don't mind doing it OCCASIONALLY as it's a nice change of pace. If it paid what I get now I'd do it too, but I have school loans and a car loan to pay off. Everyone has always said it too, every person at every job tells me it. I don't think it's hard to be good at it either. You treat people how you would want to be treated. A friendly voice that wants to help! Well this is not how any of the receptionists have been, and the dispatcher is HORRIBLE at being nice.

Including today I have been receptionist for a total of three days (two in a row right now, one from a while ago). Being in that position I see how bad our dispatcher is doing. I've heard from everyone, but now *I* am taking the flack from customers for what she isn't doing. This includes emergencies. When someone calls up saying "The fire department is getting sick of showing up for false alarms because my sprinkler pressure is messed up" - that's an emergency. When someone says "Something in my mechanical room has discharged" - that's an emergency. Situation #1 has been happening for two days, and #2 happened two weeks ago. So luckily these people got to talk to me, who WANTS to help them, and WANTS the company to do well (job security anyone?). We have a department that has not been scheduled to do any work this month. This is the same lady that bitches when she has a phone call, yet because of her position she gets 90% of the calls.

Today was "talk about the situation with the dispatcher" day. Her reason for being out the last two days?? "I'm tired"…. Yet she has a perscription for Xanax already… So the GM, owners daughter, and myself had a 45 minute chat about the situation. When the owners daughter got married, I sat around with department managers and was blown away by the amount of stuff she ****s up. When they try to tell her, she blows up at them. When the GM tells her, she blames the techs and cries. After us all standing around discussing it the owners daughter said that her father needs to know about it. Which he already does, but doesn't want to say anything. 

Just before lunch the GM took the owner into the conference room and had a "closed doors" meeting. I am hoping it has something to do with this dispatcher, being as the conversation about the receptionist being replaced was over before the owner even got there. There was also a 35 second discussion of "Should I go through a temp service or place an ad for a new receptionist" which makes me think they weren't talking about that.

I did lunch today with a few coworkers who explained the situation more. This has apparently been going on for years, it just gets a bit worse as time goes on. They say nothing will happen about it, and that nothing will get done. They say that being the dispatchers son married the owners daughter the owner will not get rid of the dispatcher. I think that's bull, and I don't see why that would be grounds to NOT fire someone. If you're not doing your job you shouldn't have that job. I even told the GM to give me a promotion for a day to do the deed. Although I'm a great receptionist, I don't take **** from people.

This afternoon was quiet, but every time there was a problem with someone, it had to do with the dispatcher. I even had a lady call up about some past due invoices she got a letter about. She hadn't paid them so we were about to send her to collections. She tells me flat out "I have sent your company 5 letters saying NOT to do work at any of these locations. I will pay this bill but I am sick of you doing work where we are not authorizing it, and us being stuck with the bill". I realized this was a good opportunity. I told her flat out "Yeah, that's pretty messed up, and there is nobody to blame but the person sending them there. Here's what to do: with your payment include ANOTHER copy of the letter telling us not to work there. Next, I'm going to give you the owners name, and I would like you to send him a copy of this letter, and perhaps explain the situation. I think he should know what's happening". And I gave her the owners name. I also let the GM know, who said if he knew that's what was going on he would have asked her to send HIM one as well! Hard to argue with complaints in writting, crying bitch dispatcher or not!

After work I do the chiropractor, and decided to get Subway for dinner, something easy and I can relax when I get home. I go in and there's nobody in there. Just a lady with three children. Shouldn't be too long, right???  RIGHT???             RIGHT???   Holy ****ing half hour. I almost knocked this bitch out, but I didn't want to scar the kids. Now that I look back I think I should have knocked her out. Maybe the kids would have learned to either know what they want or let someone who knows go AHEAD of them. GGGGGGRRRRRR   If I knew that what I know now, things would have gone differently at Subway today.

Now I'm home, and my friend has sent me a package. His tracking number says it was delivered at 9 am, but I don't have it. I'm supposed to go meet a friend tomorrow night, but she's got a slight cold that I do NOT want to get. Man, what a ****ing week. TG tomorrow IF!!!!

Oh - on a side note I haven't been on during the day because the receptionists computer SUCKS donkey dick. And the GM and I are ready to place some bets that the receptionist AND the dispatcher BOTH call off again. My intentions of work tomorrow are to be receptionist again.

My husband spent mad money buying all the ladies in his life who are mom's flowers.  Everyone but my mom has received them.  There is a bitch that lives down the road from my mom who's maiden name was Baker.  My mom's last name is Baker.  These women have the same exact name with the exception that the other person has been married for some 20 odd years and has a different last name.

This bitch keeps taking stuff that comes for my mother.  Her excuse is that my maiden name was baker and people still send me stuff using my maiden name.  No Bitch your name is whatever and you should be telling people to stop sending you stuff in your maiden name.

What pisses me off is that my husband spent alot of money on flowers for everyone and my mom didn't get anything.  When I called the company they in turn called the florist who got nasty and rude on the phone saying the flowers were delivered and it isn't their fault that she didn't get anything.  They didn't even ask for a signature. 

So this other bitch has my mom's flowers and will not give them back.  If only I could go up there and snatch the bitch up by her throat and take back what is rightfully my mothers.

You all saw the pic of me with short hair, it was longer in the front with the back spiked up for a few months. Well that got old and I have decided to let it grow out again, probably get around shoulder length. Being I had the back short enough to spike up, it's going to take a little bit to grow, and I'm doing what I can. Today I wore one of those comb kinda head bands - mainly to keep the front out of my face. My coworker says to me today "You need a new hairstyle, that one doesn't fit you".  Ummm, HELLO?? I'm growing my hair out, what it looks like now isn't a "style" - it's a process! I didn't go to the salon and ASK her to cut my hair like this, I'm trying to let it grow! And it doesn't even look bad either! Right after she said that another said "I think it looks good" and two more agreed with him. Why do people care so much about how OTHER people look? It's not like it's HER hair, or she has to look at me all day. And even so, I didn't ASK them to cut my hair like this - it's how it has to look until the back grows long enough to match the front!

I hate Mondays… my zipper broke this morning too.

So I hop on this morning and see all the political crap that I luckily missed all weekend, but unfortunatly I have to deal with it on a Monday morning. It ticked me off so much I didn't come back until now, afternoon.

Pet Peeve - as defined by wikipedia: Pet peeves involve complaints about specific behaviors, rather than general dissatisfaction. These behaviors may involve disrespect, manners, personal hygiene, relationships, and family issues.

I think we need ALL of the Political, War, and Global Warming Categories removed. These topics are not PEEVES, they are personal stances on an issue. The problem that TGIX has with the war, president, yadda yadda, should be put into a BLOG, not on this website where people are here to Bitch and Moan about the LITTLE things that tick us off. You know, how when I go to the bathroom and the toilet paper isn't going over and I get pissed? That's a pet peeve.

The way TGIX feels about these topics falls under the "general dissatisfaction" portion of the definition. After going back and seeing my "troll" post, I notice a key word that TGIX uses… "Win". This site isn't about winning, it's about VENTING and getting things off your chest, LITTLE peeves off your chest. These topics should be removed, or TGIX should be banned. I for one, vote for the banning - but that's just me.

You know what TGIX it must be nice sitting in your Tennis Club drinking Pierre and criticizing this war while people that are braver then you fight and die in Iraq for something that they know will make a difference in the world.  I was in the middle of the Ocean going through fire drills, flooding drills, and general quarters drills having to be away from my family while you were out there sitting in your Tennis Club drinking that dam Pierre.

I understand the threat to America I have been there, seen the destruction while you were drinking that Pierre at that Tennis Club. I have gone to friends funerals because of that destruction, while you were at that Tennis Club drinking that Pierre. I have seen good friends die on the docks while you were drinking that Pierre at that Tennis Club.

My father was in WWII, my brother was in Vietnam, I was in the military during the cold war and Gulf War I. So I think I have a little better understanding then you do of what is actually going on. Walter was in the Army so we have a unique view of things.

I am really sick company big shots, I work for G.M. & people think i make alot of money! Not, 68,000 last year & worked all year, & have given concessions every contract for the last 20yrs. But have the price of the cars & trucks gone down? NO,have the bosses pay gone down, or taken concession, NO. All supervisors get big pay, free new cars to drive,free gas, & free insurance on these free cars, & get to get a new car or truck every 6 months, & child allowance, 600.00 a month for each child, not to forget all the BIG bonuses!! So why don't the price the cars & trucks go down? GREED.

The cost for each truck we build is 2,300 per truck less for cars, the rest is parts, profit!! But yet they want me to take a 50% pay cut or retire or will try to fire me, & want temps to work for 14.00 an hour with no health care, no sick days no vacation time & let go at anytime they want.

Summery, I have taken concessions, half the employees are temps(half pay,no health care) Got rid of half of there empolyees, & closed 2/3's of there plants & farmed out 90% of parts to other countrys.So why havent the prices went down? GREED

Recently they wanted us to work 10 hrs. 4 days a week to save money,sounds good, NOT, If i got sick & had to use a sick day, I could only use 8 hrs. & lose 2 hrs.pay, the same with vacation, I would lose 48 hrs. pay total! And only get 2 an ahalf days  if a family member dies. I would have to work 5 hrs. the 3 day, all to save money. they don't care!

And this isn't just G.M., its Ford & Chrysler & the foreign car co. too!

SO WHY????

Well, as many/some of you know from my previous postings, I work for the military recruiting.  Because I work for the military recruiting, I am also a part of the family readiness group.

Let me go into the back brief of this situation….I am a contracted employee first of all.  I do the planning and coordinating of all Family events on my personal time.  The Soldiers, spouses and children are like family to me.  I would do anything within my power to help any of them with anything.  (maybe this is where I am in a tricky situation)  I have been doing this since day one of employment, and 99.9% of all the spouses love the fact that I do this because that means they don't have to step up to the plate to do anything.

Well, last night we had our first meeting of 2008 for all the spouses.  It turned out pretty well, we had good attendance and everyone enjoyed themselves.  There was one issue that came up.  One of the spouses made a comment.  That comment was "shouldn't the family readiness group be for only true members of the family and not some civilian that works for the company as the secretary?".  That kind of hit me like a ton of bricks and I didn't know what to say or how to react.  I was busy sitting down with the children that were there and reading them stories and playing with them to keep them occupied during the meeting.

Is there a such thing as caring too much about the people that you work with and their families?  Should I just back off and let them handle the things they want to (or in some cases not want to)?

Since my new commander has arrived I have really felt more and more like I am not part of the company.  There have been comments made that have hurt that she has said like "oh, I forgot about you" or "oh, I didn't think that you were part of the company because you are of course a civilian" or "you wouldn't understand".

Well, I do understand.  I have served my country and my flag, 2 years in the Navy, and 4 years in the guard.  Not only that but I have been a spouse of someone who served in the guard, even though our marriage dissolved after he got out and upon him cheating on me.  So, I do understand the life of the military.  I work around all the recruiters, I see what they go through on a daily basis.  I see how they have to be pushed, I see the punishments that come down.  Not to mention, I have been in my job for 3 years now, and I have dealt with having a co-worker in the office that was a complete and utter lazy jack a$$!

Should I stop caring?  Have I let myself get too close to everyone? 

I don't know what to do.  Anyone out there with some suggestions? 

I am so bad!  I just called my sister and used the hubby's name in vain.  I told her that his leave got changed and he would be home early next week.  She is freaking out right now and is scrambling to get out in two days.  Of course he isn't coming home until March but I had to resort to underhanded sneaky things to remove the problem.  I feel elated right now.  She is so gullible she believed everything I told her and I milked the story good.  If you want details you will have to send me an email to get the story I told her.

I took the advice of all of you and my mom and best friends/godmothers to my children.  I went to the court house this morning and spoke to the magistrate.  He didn't give what I was looking for but told me how to go about doing it.  I went to get an eviction served to my sister and her husband.  I had to write up a tenant agreement (should've done it in the first place,  my mistake to learn from) and get them to sign it.  The hard part is getting them to sign it.  Give them a week then write up a vacate the premises note, if they do't leave then I can go get the eviction notice served to them.  It will take up to 3 weeks after I file the eviction papers for them to get out.   I wouldn't have had to go this route if they would just leave and stop coming up with excuses on why they can't come up with the money.  I even offered to use my cell phone to call his family and I got "I don't want anyone in your effing family to have my family numbers"  Like I want to call his family.  They wouldn't like what I had to say anyways.  Damn some people just have to have things done the hard way!  I feel like I am raising 4 kids instead of the 2 that I have.

Ok I just came back from signing up for membership in a new gym. I'm, signing the papers, asking questions, and talking with the counter girl when this bitch comes up and just interupts. She informs me that she is "very important person" and does that thing with her hand to wave me aside.  Needless to say I didn't budge, which only pissed her off, at this point I realized that she is well known city council member who is known to be very vindictive if things don't go her way. I explained to her that the counter girl was waiting on me and that her behavior was not only rude to me but to the employee as well. She flips out right there acting like a five year old who didn't get her toy!  Finally another employee came out to help her, all the twit wanted was a bottle of water!  She made a complete and total ass of herself over water!

She started to walk away but turned and told me that I needed to learn my place. I went off on this bitch like I was a pimp who didn't get paid. I ripped into her telling her that she's on the city board by graces of local voters and we don't serve her, she serves US! I also called her by name and told her that if she opened her cesspool of a mouth to me like that again I'd let her hubby know about her weekly "meetings" in a hotel with another man. She blushed a deep shade of red and stormed off!

God I just cannot stand self-important people who think they should be the center of the universe!  I will stand up to people like her anytime its appropriate, I will not be treated like a second class citizen by anyone!  Here's hoping she slips on bar of soap in the shower and breaks something. The moral of the story is that I am quick on my feet when speaking my mind, if you cop an attitude with me expect to get an attitude back. I don't care who are, hell I'd tell the pope off if needed!

OH man she's dumb. I have a filing cabinet in my office that is used by maybe two people. One of them was at it, on his cellphone. She comes in and says "Hey XXX" - AS HE IS IN MID SENTENCE. Then she askes me if he's on the phone. No, I'm just sitting here playing computer games while he blabs on to me about job information… DUH. So she stands there and waits. I hear the phone start to ring. And it dawns on me - she is the ONLY person here to answer the phone. The other two that help her out are not in the office. Then I wonder, if she's back here, who is up front?

Answer: No one. She could have paged him to the front, and then been able to answer the phone AND help any customers that came in, but she was back here, as far from the front of the office as you can get.

Damn she's dumb.

Until recently I haven't really known how much this bothered me. It seems like anytime someone does something good, And then they do something else, A lot of people seem to want to complain about it.. They say they are "Milking it for what it's worth".

 I guess this peeve is hard to explain, but one of the things that brought this on was an article about J.K. Rowling, (The writer of the Harry Potter books) Anyway In the article it mentions how she may actually write an 8th book that deals with the wizarding world, and some of the posters there were rather rude, saying she was just doing it for the money, and trying to "milk the Harry Potter craze for all it's worth". She may in fact just be writing more for money, but who knows, and who cares, She's a good author who has created an entire world, that many people are interested in reading more about. I mean she isn't like Paris Hilton, or Britney Spears, she is actually making millions of people happy with her writing, donates to charity, and more.

 But this isn't about her, It just seems like people nowadays can't live with the thought of someone doing something good, and continuing to do well. It's like now it's cool to hate people because they are good at something, I mean If some scientist, found the Cure for AIDS, and then a few months later found a Cure for cancer, People would be complaining that the guy was just "Milking it for what it's worth" I dunno why some people can't just accept that some people are very talented, and successful, but it is rather annoying.

As all of you will remember, we get Jaxson on the 26th. I am driving to my mom's (2 hours away) Christmas day, so I don't have to drive 4+ hours just to Oklahoma and 4+ back. So my mother in law has decided to wait until I get home with Jaxson on th e26th to do her Christmas…..which is fine, she is not rushing me to get back, and I would prefer that he gets to be at atleast a few of his daddy's family christmases. My father-in-law and step-mother-in-law were demanding that we be back by 2! Excuse me??? I don't meet his mom until around 12, there is no way to make it through Dallas/Ft. Worth in under 2 hours, never the less to get back to where I live. almost 3 hours from Dallas!!!! I called them back, because I am tired of my hubby sugar-coating things with his dad, told them we were sorry, but none of our family would be making their Christmas. My husband is on graveyards, and will not be home until 8 am, and there is no possible way to get back with Jaxson at their specified time…maybe next year. He huffs, and puffs, and grumps his way off the phone, to where my husband's step-mom tried to explain to me y sernly, that that was when they are having their christmas, and we should be there. I told them it was NOT possible, that getting Jaxson comes above their Christmas gathering for our family ANYDAY. She smarted off telling me that "If it were your family, you would be there and make sure he was there!" Actually, my family did their's on teh 15th, just to make room for all the "late planners" that we have in MY married-in-to family, and for some reason, my parents UNDERSTAND that my son comes before ALL, just as my OWN BLOOD Children do. For some reason, it is hard to believe that my parents would work around anything, having a so called "step-grandchild", but the actual grandparents that have a blood grandchild try to be asses and difficult????

So now I get a phone call yesterday, and she (step-mil) is apoligizing, saying she didn't realize we couldn't have gotten him sooner…..uh, don't you have kids with another man?? Don't you have a child custody agrement??? UUHHH HELLO???? SURE YOU DIDN'T you Pompas ass!  So now they have switched their christmas to the 27th, in th emorning and it will be over by 11, because she has to go to work at noon….hate to tell them, but that is my 26th birthday, don't think we will be going to that one either!
