What a Load of Crap This Is….
http://n ews.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081222/ap_on_bi_ge/meltdown_secrets
Oh My God! We loan these bastards all those tax dollars and they are refusing to account for where the money is? No F'ing way (excuse the english)!
What arrogant pricks these guys are:
"We're choosing not to disclose that," said Kevin Heine, spokesman for Bank of New York Mellon, which received about $3 billion.
"We've lent some of it. We've not lent some of it. We've not given any accounting of, 'Here's how we're doing it,'" said Thomas Kelly, a spokesman for JPMorgan Chase, which received $25 billion in emergency bailout money. "We have not disclosed that to the public. We're declining to."
These banks get billions of dollars of OUR tax money and they think they don't have to account for how its used? BULLCRAP! Where is Congress, Bush, or even Obama on all this? The government needs to pull thier thumbs out thier butts and demand an accounting for this. Hell try telling JPMorgan Chase or Bank of New York that you've lost track of the money they've loaned you, they'd have you locked up or not even loan you the money in the first place.
I encourage everyone here to write, call, or email your congressmen to demand that action be taken without delay. I am beside myself, I just can't believe what I've read! Greed had gotten those companies into the trouble they got into, the bailout didn't change a thing. The corruption here is staggering, just staggering.

It’s about TIME!!!!!
Group asks Google to stop map image service
TOKYO (Reuters) – A group of Japanese lawyers and professors asked on Friday that Google Inc stop providing detailed street-level images of Japanese cities on the Internet, saying they violated privacy rights.
Google's Street View offers ground-level, 360-degree views of streets in 12 Japanese cities and is also offered for some 50 cities in the United States and certain areas in Europe.
The service allows Web users to drive down a street, in a virtual sense, using their mouse to adjust views of roadside scenery.
"We strongly suspect that what Google has been doing deeply violates a basic right that humans have," Yasuhiko Tajima, a professor of constitutional law at Sophia University in Tokyo, told Reuters by telephone.
"It is necessary to warn society that an IT giant is openly violating privacy rights, which are important rights that the citizens have, through this service."
The Campaign Against Surveillance Society, a Japanese civilian group that Tajima heads, wants Google to stop providing its Street View service of Japanese cities and delete all saved images.
Google's office in Tokyo was unable to comment immediately.
Privacy concerns about Google's service have grown in Japanese media, especially after some people discovered their images on Street View.
Similar concerns have been raised in other parts of the world, including the United States and Europe.
In one case, a woman was shown sunbathing and in another a man was pictured exiting a strip club in San Francisco.
In March, Google said it would comply with a Pentagon request to remove some online images from Street View over fears they posed a security threat to U.S. military bases.
Web-based Google Maps and a related computer-based service called Google Earth have drawn criticism from a variety of countries for providing images of sensitive locations, such as military bases or potential targets of terror attacks.

'I'm not qualified to land plane,' pilot tells passengers
LONDON (AFP) – A British passenger plane was forced to turn back minutes before landing in Paris because the pilot of 30 years' experience was not qualified to land in fog, an airline confirmed on Thursday.
Speaking over the address system as the Flybe flight approached Charles de Gaulle airport, the pilot announced to startled passengers "I am not qualified to land the plane" and turned back to Cardiff.
A spokeswoman for the low-cost airline said the pilot was "an experienced aviator with more than 30 years commercial aviation experience flying a number of different passenger aircraft types."
"He has relatively recently transferred his 'type-rating' from a Bombardier Q300 to a Bombardier Q400 and has not yet completed the requisite low-visibility training to complete a landing in conditions such as the dense fog experienced in Paris Charles de Gaulle," she said.
"The captain therefore quite correctly turned the aircraft around and returned to Cardiff; a decision which the company stands by 100 percent."
One passenger, 29-year-old Cassandra Grant, said she had missed a job interview in the French capital as a result.
She told the South Wales Echo newspaper: "Twenty minutes outside Paris, the captain said, 'Unfortunately I'm not qualified to land the plane in Paris. They are asking for a level two qualification and I only have a level five. We'll have to fly back.
"The whole thing beggars belief. If I had not been on the plane, I would not have believed it."
The Civil Aviation Authority described the incident as "quite unusual but probably not unheard of.
"I guess he thought when he initially took off that conditions would be suitable for him to land," a spokesman said.
"There are different classifications of aircraft and when an aircraft is updated, pilots who have flown an older version have to completely retrain.
"Different climatic conditions like fog require a certain level of skill and he probably didn't have the level of training required for this particular aircraft."

THE LONG, UPHILL BATTLE: The "mindless" attempts by government
and
society to eliminate all dangers in life are threatening
personal
freedom, says Tom Mullarkey, chief of the U.K.'s
Royal Society for the
Prevention of
Accidents. "The application of common sense and balance
is much more reasonable than the seeking of mindless increments towards
'absolute safety'," he said, which is "a destination
which is neither
feasible nor, in all probability, desirable,
since it would come at
such cost to our freedoms." While some
areas obviously need regulation,
he says, such as nuclear power
and aviation, individuals should merely
be given information on
safety and be allowed to make their own
decisions on whether risks
are worth taking, so long as they don't put
others in danger.

Dang them drunk WOMEN!!!
Fla. woman drinking on roof asks man for more beer
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – A man called police on Wednesday night after he came home from work and spotted an intoxicated woman drinking a beer on the roof of his home. The 28-year-old woman was taken into custody after she refused to get down and leave. The police report said the woman agreed to leave only if the man agreed to give her more beer.
The woman, who faces a disorderly intoxication charge, has been in trouble before.
A police report shows that she was suspected of stealing money from her sister to buy alcohol in October. And last week an officer who went to her apartment on a disturbance report reported that Smith was intoxicated and wouldn't quiet down.

Gambler sues casino over $900 million binge
CANBERRA (Reuters) – An Australian gambler who lost millions in a A$1.4 billion ($909 million) gaming spree is suing one of the country's largest casinos, claiming he was targeted by managers despite a known gambling addiction.
In a case which lawyers say could have implications stretching to China, gambling addict Harry Kakavas is suing Crown Casino in Melbourne for A$50 million damages after a mammoth 14-month baccarat binge in which he lost A$37 million.
At the time in 2007, property developer Kakavas had been barred from every casino in Australia.
But the Supreme Court in Victoria state was told that Crown's management did not "give a monkey's" about a prohibition in place since 2004, the Age newspaper said.
Supreme Court documents said Kakavas wore a concealed recorder that captured Crown managers allegedly attempting to lure him back to its riverside baccarat tables.
Crown is owned by Australian billionaire James Packer, who also operates Crown Macau and is developing a second casino project, The City of Dreams, in the Chinese territory. Last year the company reported profits of A$370 million.
"We have no intention of responding to the allegations made publicly. We are defending the action vigorously," Crown spokesman Gary O'Neill told Reuters.
Crown Chief Executive Rowen Craigie and Chief Operating Officer John Williams face accusations of unconscionable conduct while in charge of Crown, which this month reported revenue from table games and gaming machines up 4 percent as Packer looks to expand in Macau.
Court documents in Melbourne alleged that emails detailed a Crown plan to lure back Kakavas after managers discovered he had lost millions of dollars gambling in Las Vegas.
If found guilty, Crown could be judged to have breached Australia's Trade Practices Act, state gambling regulations and special laws covering the high-profile casino's operation.

Woman burns ex-beau's clothes, damages top $100K
ANDERSON, Ind. – A woman set fire to her ex-boyfriend's clothing at a self-storage center and walked away, causing more than $100,000 in damages, police said. Officers arrested Donna J. Duell, 26, on suspicion of arson in connection with the fire Wednesday night at Community Storage Lockers on the north side of Anderson.
Duell at first denied any involvement but then admitted she took her ex-boyfriend's clothing to an empty storage unit, set it ablaze and walked away, Anderson Police Detective Randy Tracy said.
Duell told him the two were involved in a "bitter domestic dispute."
"The fire fully engulfed one entire building and damage estimates are over $100,000, not including the contents of the buildings," Tracy said.
Security codes indicated Duell had been the last person to storage center at 8:02 p.m., and she left nine minutes later. Firefighters received the first report of the blaze at 8:24 p.m.
Duell was released from the Madison County Jail after posting $20,000 bond Thursday.
A telephone listing for her could not be located Friday.

AchTUNG!!!!!
German magazine mistakenly runs Chinese brothel ad
BERLIN (AFP) – A respected German research institute, seeking to illustrate a special report on China with Chinese characters, mistakenly ran an ad for a Chinese brothel on its cover page.
"The idea was to publish an aesthetic picture illustrating Chinese writing", Max Planck Institute spokeswoman Felicitas von Aretin told AFP Thursday.
The institute bought the picture of Chinese characters in good faith from a photo agency and had it checked by a Chinese speaker, she said.
The collage of texts "looked good and didn't appear to pose a problem", said von Aretin. It was published some five weeks ago on the cover page of one of the institute's journal devoted to China — "a many-faceted, fascinating land".
Only then did readers notice that the text included a reference to an ad for stripping housewives in a brothel.
That edition of the journal has since been recalled, and the institute has apologized to readers, the spokeswoman said.

Man sprays 'toilet-papering' teens with fox urine
WILLMAR, Minn. – A 50-year-old man who told authorities he was fed up with teens toilet-papering his house decided to defend his property — with a squirt gun filled with fox urine. Now, Scott Wagar is in trouble with the law.
Wagar pleaded not guilty on Wednesday in Kandiyohi County District Court to misdemeanor assault and other charges. He was released on personal recognizance.
According to police, Wagar was on his property Sept. 16 when he used night vision goggles to see 15-20 people running toward his place. He told police that he told them to leave, swore at them and sprayed them with the fox urine. He also allegedly struggled with one of the teens.
A phone message left at a home listing for a Scott Wagar was not immediately returned to The Associated Press.

Another Child Lost
I've just seen on the news that authorites have just discovered the body of a young girl believed to be Kaylee (sp) Anthony. She was found in a dried up river bed, no further details were given. Given the amount of time the body was in the water I doubt they'll get much info from an autopsy. What a shame another child murdered for no reason.
I have no doubt this child's mother is responsible, the courts ought to throw the book at her sorry arse. This woman should not get any leniency, no pleas, no compassion, and no special treatment. Lets make an example of her, let her lay on a table with the needle in her arm or electrocute her to death. I also think this should be on TV, live TV so people can see the consequences of murdering a helpless child.
I am certain this murdering twit will claim some mental illness (my guess is Multiple Personalities), hopefully a judge doesn't care and makes sure she get the death penalty. GOOD RIDDANCE YOU MURDERING SCUM, I HOPE THEY HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR YOU!

Honest woman finds $97K in restroom, returns it
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A Murfreesboro woman says she returned $97,000 she claims to have found in a Cracker Barrel restroom, but police said Tuesday they have no report of the find. Billie Watts, 75, told The Daily News Journal that she discovered the money inside a tapestry bag hanging from a hook on a stall door last Thursday.
But five days later, the money and its anonymous owner remain something of a mystery in the community, where police said that they have no report of the find.
While digging through the bag to figure out its owner, Watts says she found a bundle of neatly stacked $1,000 bills.
Watts said she and her husband took the money home, but later called the restaurant back and asked if there was a lost-and-found department. She was told yes, and left her number.
A woman called about 15 minutes later and verified she was the owner by identifying pictures left in the bag. Watts returned the bag to the owner, whom she described as an elderly woman, but said she does not have the woman's last name or phone number.
Watts said the woman told her that the money came from selling her home and her belongings and that she was going to start a new life in Florida with her son. Watts says the woman offered to pay her $1,000, but Watts refused it.
A manager of the Cracker Barrel restaurant, Bill Shupp, said no employees actually saw the money or the elderly owner.

The Goldman Family
Is it just me or do these people just creep you out? I am truly sorry that Ron Goldman was murdered but the behavior of this family is just a little odd to me. They seem obssesed with OJ's money to me, its all you ever hear from them. I saw a recent interview with on Dr Phil, Ron's name was mentioned once the rest of the time was spent talking about tracking down all of OJs money. They claim to want Ron to not be forgotten so why not talk about him instead OJ's assets? Creepy, just creepy.

Update on the Teacher Porn Case
http://www1.whdh.com/ne ws/articles/local/BO96134/
I posted about this awhile ago but I'll do a quick recapp for anyone who didn't see it. Julie Amero was convicted after a computer she had been using began to wildly display sexually based pop ups, the woman was NOT surfing for porn and only used the computer for reading email and for taking attendance. The woman, from what I have read, was not tech savvy and did not know how to stop the pop ups (I can tell you it can be hard to turn them off). This woman was arrested and convicted for this and faced 40 years in prison! A judge later overturned her conviction, but prosecuters filed charges again. The teacher pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and lost her teaching certification. I didn't see it in the article but I wouldn't be surprised if she would have had to registered as a sex offender.
The whole thing is a disgrace and a mess! The charges filed were for "risk of injury to a minor", huh? Seeing naked people on a TV screen injures teenagers? Keep in mind this was a middle school, kids see each other naked in the showers by now and have no doubt seen thier parents naked, and have the net at home.
I also take issue with a 40 year sentence for something so trivial. Christ some pervert in our town just got 7 years for ACTUALLY sexually violating a 12 year old. The sentence just doesn't fit the crime here, 40 years is too excessive. The woman didn't open the porn this was done by malicious programming on what I believe was a community computer, which means anyone could have infected the system. Where were the firewalls, anti-virus, and other security software? The school should have made sure all that was in place so something like this would never have happened. It seems to me the school needed to place the blame on someone else so they didn't have own up to thier screw up.
Let us be honest here, these kids weren't harmed in anyway. They saw some penis and vagina in a classroom, something they've likely already seen on the computer at home. I also wonder how many of the kids in this class are already sexually active, most of them probably have done the deed. The notion that these kids were harmed by a mere glimpse of some porn is outrageous! The prosecuter who bought the case before a judge should be ran out of office, I would be the first to lead that rally!
We've got people being raped, molested, murdered, and ripped off by REAL criminals and THIS is what we focus on? No wonder why we have so much crime.

Judge allows civil suit over co-worker's perfume
DETROIT – A federal judge says a Detroit city employee can proceed with a civil suit claiming she couldn't work because of a co-worker's strong perfume.
The Detroit News says U.S. District Judge Lawrence Zatkoff determined Susan McBride has a potential claim under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The city is asking to have the suit dismissed.
McBride says she's severely sensitive to perfumes and other cosmetics. She says the perfume worn by a co-worker in the city's Planning Department made it difficult for her to breathe.
She says the co-worker also used a plugged in room deodorizer.
The suit says the co-worker later agreed to stop using the room deodorizer but kept using perfume.

NY public toilets feature TVs, tuxedoed attendants
NEW YORK – What a relief! The free public restrooms operated by the Charmin toilet paper company in Times Square during the holidays are being rolled out for another year.
It's the third straight year for the 20 deluxe stalls.
The plush potties feature flat-screen televisions, attendants dressed in tuxedos and plenty of Charmin.
The loos are so luxurious that Charmin promises Times Square tourists will feel like kings sitting on their thrones before making their royal flushes.
The toilets are being inaugurated Monday with a ceremonial first flush by pop singer and Broadway star Joey Fatone (fuh-TOHN').
They'll be open every day through the end of the year except Christmas Day. For the first time they'll be open on New Year's Eve for the crowd watching the 2009 ball drop.

DISGUSTING!
Seriously!!This isn't the first post I've made about these damn drunk natives up here, but it's been a while (and it's also been summer).
http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/596064.html
What the hell?? Last years drunk hitting the champion dogs wasn't enough of a reason to do something? I hate these stupid losers! What do they do for their life? They hang out, drink and smoke, take money from the government, and then complain about how the "white man" is the reason their lives are this way. NO NO NO - you make your life what it is! The only person they can blame is themselves. They take their government check and go buy snow machines and quads and booze and smokes. Then when their snow machine runs out of gas or breaks down what do they do?? THEY BUY A NEW ONE. You should SEE the machines abandoned out there. It's DISGUSTING. Stupid drunk natives piss me off!
Now a man that has done NOTHING but good is gone.
*note: I am only referring to drunk ALASKAN natives in this post.

Warrant, cocaine lead to job seeker's arrest
JACKSON, Mich. – A mid-Michigan man who'd been looking for work found trouble after an arrest warrant popped up during a background check at a police station. Police also found cocaine in his pocket. The company the man was applying to required a police background check.
The Jackson Citizen Patriot reported that after running the 29-year-old man's name through their computer system Wednesday, police learned he was wanted on a domestic violence charge.
Deputy Police Chief John Holda said that while searching him at the station, an officer found several rocks of cocaine.
The man was being held in the county jail and will be arraigned on the domestic violence charge and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Cell phone good for SOMETHING anyway!!!
Cell phone in man's chest pocket stops bullet
COVINGTON, La. – A man says his cell phone saved his life. A stray .45-caliber bullet hit R.J. Richard's chest while he was mowing the lawn — hitting so hard he thought it was a stone kicked out by his tractor. He pulled out the phone. It fell apart.
The 68-year-old man was bruised. He said doctors told him two things prevented worse injury, maybe even death: the phone, and the fact that the bullet came in at an angle rather than head-on.
Reports of pocket Bibles saving their owners' lives pop up every so often. Richard says he's sure that God told him to put the phone in his overalls chest pocket rather than a pants pocket as usual. He said that Saturday's incident increased his faith.
He figured the bullet was fired by a hunter in woods near his 5-acre property.
